Spin friendly pitches: India's nemesis

Told ya, Suddenly Root becomes great player of spin. We should have never given first test match pitch. 
 

Cook referred Kohli an Root and few more as great player of spin. Only player of spin in those ranks is Rohit. But i for sure think, Kohli post covid era is struggling against spin.

India still has so many capable batsmen.

 

With addition of Jaiswal, we now have a batsman who can bat long.

 

India was producing decent pitches before they lost at Chennai few years back v England, where Root scored a double hundred. Before that Mayank, Kohli and others were batting long.

 

At that time we had some talented batsmen, but no one could bat long on pattas. Pant, Sundar, Axar were doing well.

 

So team shifted to rank turners and started beating everyone. That strategy was reliant on lower order bailing out batsmen consistently.

 

Last England series had Jaiswal scoring 2 double centuries, Gill scoring 100s, this problem was somewhat mitigated, but instead of trusting these players, management still went with rank turners which failed massively when lower order failed.

 

We are at crossover of main batsmen becoming potent again and lower order losing efficiency. It's high time to trust likes of Jaiswal, Pant, Gill, Sarfaraz to play regular 100s knock and let seniors like Kohli and Rahul provide the support on better pitches.
