Filled the team with consolidators and short medium pacers. these pitches will make consolidators look valuable Link to comment

You need batters who are selective in their stroke play but still play fast enough. Link to comment

The problem here lies in abilities, so what's the point in blaming pitches? In an icc tournament you should be prepared to all kinds of pitches Link to comment

In an icc tournament you should be prepared to all kinds of pitches coz most of our batsman will struggle on such pitches even if we take the attackings ones....we have historically not liked such pitches ICC prepares patta...the 2019 xample u a gave was coz it was a long tournament and pitches start to wear down Link to comment

I always felt that we get blown away on flatties as our bowlers find it hard to contain. Wc final in 03, wc semis 2015, ct final 2017 for example. In comparison, Wt20 2007, ct 2013 had low scoring games that we dominated and won them. Even 2011 didn't have too flat pitches. 2019 had sub 300 scores throughout the tourney Link to comment

Now i fully expect us to make a turner to win series which wont help in long run. As that turner plan will become our backup plan which we may implement in Wc also but on a given day anything can happen like in 2016 Wc when NZ screwed us on a turner. Pitches in Wc wud be under Icc so it wud be mostly patta so prepare acc to them. Its also just not this year next yr wud also be t20 Wc in Australia and those wkts are true pattas as well. So dnt prepare such wkts this wont help us as will end up selecting batting for such wkts on pattas and end up falling short most days exactly. Instead of selection issues this would be a good point. But counter is some pitches in india do turn and bounce. Nagpur 2016 was prime example.. but yes this should be the benchmark. Whatever said and done Sena countries produce consistent pitches for t20 is. In india its a lottery. I mean even chinnaswamy from a batting paradise is now a difficult pitch. Have we ever heard Sydney odi pitches have changed or for that matter oval.. Link to comment
