IPL Elite X1: how many games will they win?

Global.Baba

Recommended Posts

Criteria:  3 format players and not T20 specialists

Rohit

Kohli

Williamson

Smith

Stokes

MSD (WK)

Cummins

Ashwin

Bumrah

Bhuvi

Shami

Reserves: Holder,Jadeja,Rahane,Rahul,Boult,Dhawan,Warner,Mayank

Picked 4 overseas players.

How many T20 specialist X1 can beat this team? Not in a one off scenario  but consistently ?

Also purposely excluding other elite players Morgan,Gayle,Bairstow,Archer,Butler and ABD who might be considered T20 specialists

Question for @Ankit_sharma03 @zen

its not a good side. Jitne individual brilliance se they can they will but not tournament. Side stinks of RCB syndrome ...all big names but half misfit on wrong roles. Every cricketer is at his best if used properly. No better example then rohit whose career looks different when at right and when at wrong role.

Since u gave films analogy, ill give u a similar example..this is how films are screwed by producers and financers as they plan to take all stars and give a zero * about script. Multi star cast bas scriptwriter  lena bhul gaye.

Question for @Ankit_sharma03 @zen

It would depend upon whom the above is playing. If playing the team below, not many (may be the above would win 1 in 5 games)

Kishan

Samson

SKY

Pant

SDP

Pollard

Sundar

Rashid

Archer

Boult

Nathu

Reserves: Morgan, Russell, Starc, Rabada, Norjke, Sakib, Tewatia, D Chahar, Thakur, Krishna, Saini, Tyagi, R Chahar, Varun C, Paddikal, Gaikwad, Agarwal, Gill,  ...

good team. Forgot to add Boult to my list. Can be considered an Elite as well.

Anyways bowling looks weak against that elite line up or Ro-Ko, Smith and Williamson. They will tear down this bowling bar may be Rashid. Archer is no big deal.

IMO, Ro-Ko ensures that the other team has the advantage ... :winky:

U didnt use matchups correctly , u also need to screw their bowling with batting . Their batting itself is suicidal most days.

Adding Boult, Dhawan, Mayank and Warner to my elite list

Warner belongs to t20 list ....he made a transition through t20s.  Abdv deserves to be in elite list more then warner. Abdv was a top gun in test

yes that is why he is such a unique case study but last 2 seasons he doesn’t play like a “modern day”  T20 player like he used to :winky:

Debatable but that’s fine.

So i can screw ur side easily with my side. Just 2 question ...one is warner he actually is a t20 guy so he shud be in my list and abdv , rabadda are all 3 format top players. If its just about playing 3 formats butler , pandya, archer all of them play 3 formats . Even moeen ali plays 3 format actually ashwin isnt a 3 format player anymore. Decide ur list clearly so i can make mine n screw urs...ur logic makes abdv more suited in ur list then in other.

2nd - am i allowed 5 overseas players since u get 3 format players which means u have extremely larger pool ??

Can you imagine just looking at the elite dugout, the “modern day” boys will start to mentally disintegrate  or be in awe and find their autograph books.

Team Elite anyday over team “modern day” :hail:

you are probably taking about yourself

how many of these “modern day” players will start their interview with “Mahi Bhai, Rohit bhai, Virat Bhayya” ?

answer that to yourself honestly.

cricket  is 50% played in the mind and already half the work is done by team elite.

Team “modern day” mostly cannot “think”, can only “play” if you know what I mean :winky:

No

thats fine you can use Warner because you might be struggling to put a competent X1 with “modern day” players.

So then :mi: should not be winning IPL as it hardly has 3 format players

To be considered a proper 3 format player, one should have played like 50 tests like de Kock and Boult

I consider Dekock an elite player. Boult the bowler- Elite

Rohit the batsman/opener and captain- Elite

Dekock the batsman/opener and keeper- Elite

Yes the “modern day” players play around them and unleash their beastly potentials under their guidance. I mean Cmon even Saurabh Tiwary looks at least a 100 bucks in :mi:

This is the kind of eliteness I like to see even if it is a T20 format.
