Asking to play Sundar over Dhawan as opener in LOIs was a very poor analysis by ICF

Sundar is a bits and pieces player  as of now , where as Shastri's bowling was far superior to Sundar. Jadeja was that too in early part of his career in international cricket but one thing Jadeja did was play FC and score runs.Jadeja biggest plus  his bowling is perfect fit for all subcontinent pitches. As he got more experience, he has justified his batting talent.

 

Can Sundar become another Ashwin should be the question.

Sundar has showed his capabilities with bat. Maybe over the years he can turn out to be a proper batsman, who will get selected on the batting performances alone, unlike Ashwin who gets selected primarily as a bowler.
