Can someone please explain how NZ is the #1 Team in ICC test team ratings ?

We got into the WTC finals with a much stronger win/loss  % in the WTC cycle .

 

We were ranked # 1 Test team before the WTC final ( or am i wrong here  ??) 

 

How the hell did NZ gain 7 points on us just based on 1 game ?? Is there any ICC  rule that awards inordinate points to the team winning the final ?

Max weight is on last 2 years. We have lost quite a few games in this period - 1 in Australia, 2 in NZ, 1 at home against Eng, then against NZ in WTC. NZ have mostly played at home during this time and not lost anything. Plus beating India 3 times gave them a huge jump in points. They will lose the spot to India once they lose 2-0 in India.
