Is the current Aussie pace attack in tests better than ours ? Do we have an X-factor in our test team compared to the Aussies ?

I think our lower order/tail has chipped in with runs in very tight /close situations - this has been the difference imo.

 

 

 

India refuse to continually play their best team.

 

When they are forced through via injury they win a series that no one saw coming.

 

The win in Australia last summer, was a result of Kohli, Ishant and co not be  able to play.

 

Even the side that beat SA is not our best, when the BCCI wakes up, we will show our true force.

Smith is there man. Labu is decent vs spin. Although not sure how he fares in India vs spin.

 

We are hopeless vs spin unless tou include mayank sundar Gill Shaw.

A lot will depend on Smith, who is interestingly beginning to slip a bit. Marnus will struggle against Axar IMO, although he can handle Ashwin and even Jaddu. If we give them big turning pitches, we need players who can play spin. If Rohit is fit, this should be the XI on spinning tracks: Rohit, Mayank, KLR, S. Iyer, Gill/Sundar, Pant, Jaddu, Ashwin, Axar, Umesh/Shami, Siraj/Boom

 

Batting till 9, 5 bowling options (6 if Sundar plays), pacers suited for SC, fearsome spin trio (who can be backed by Sundar), and a middle-order + openers that can play spin well.
