He has praised Sehwag profusely too... this will undoubtedly put additional pressure on Veeru...but then Chappell never shirked from that... Remember his comment when Ganguly was brought back to the team? "It's all good, until he bats"... IIRC.... WTF was that? Ganguly made Chappell STFU and Veeru should do the same to Vengsarkar... Initially i didnt think highly of him, when he picked Jaffar over Gambhir & brought VVS back into ODIs. But oflate, his selections have been reasonable. And what's the deal about inviting the players to the opening ceremony of his wife's jewellery shop......does that sound ethical .....it's like going to the bosses wife's shop and God forbid if you don't buy anything...(he may not be technically be the boss ...but he does select them to the team) And there was a picture on one of the channels....a team picture in team colours with him and his wife ....how stupid can you get? :wall: Link to comment

It dusnt help the team bit at all.. Conversely, it would sehwag more since he knows that evertbody knows that he wasnt first choice selection.
