cricketman Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Gony is awesome. He certainly will be in the team soon. Imagine two tall fast bowlers, Ishant and Gony, bowling in tandem. With the experience of Zaheer added to the three and Irfan's good medium pace, we'll have an awesome fast bowling unit.

zubinpepsi Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 another case of nitpicking dhoni's word.. isnt it true tht he doesnt have world classs bowlers??? and Gony is not world class bowler..he jus started getting exposure... and lets look at the rest of the bowlers who played yday.. jogi, amarnath, morkel (more of a batting allrounder) and oram... tell me how many world class bowlers dhoni had yday.. infact he was being positive when he said.. we dont have world class bowlers but still they responded beautifully and bowled in the areas where he wanted them...he was infact praising them.. guess.. indian fans dont like Dhoni to being honest .....

Gony was spotted by the superkings selector VB Chandrasekhar, who asked Cheeka to watch out for this guy even earlier. VB had been a national selector and had seen this fellow perform. He was asked to join the superkings and also told he would have the advantage of availing the MRF pace facilities in Chennai. He is much quicker than this and right now concentrating on his accuracy, which Dhoni thinks is a great factor, and has asked him to concentrate on bowling accurately at the stumps. The good news for Gony is he is playing for Dhoni, right under his eyes, and Dhoni is known to stick by certain players and support them all the way if they play the way he wants them to. Gony certainly has a brighter future

Mr.hari, I do not think he has the pace or the quality to be a specialist international bowler. i mean i understand worse bowlers have played international cricket especially the one dayers. but if you don't have the skills to be exceptional, you are more likely to be a temporary stay. In the 80's or 90's , when mediocres were plenty in indian cricket, he may have easily had a profitable run. but not these days.
