This was before Asia Cup. When this guy Kohli was supposed to be struggling. Look at SR of Pandya , the so called guy who is having purple patch and some geniuses even want him to be captain. So what was Gambhir whining about. 

 

Even in his worst days he was still better than these fake superstars. The only guy who has been doing very well is SKY, Pandya SR has to be lot higher for him to do well as finisher.

 

Kohli was and is still struggling in test cricket. That is where he has let team down badly. I don't think he is going to do well in test cricket.

There was a possibility he could do well in this format given that there are no 5 slips waiting for him to edge. Bowlers don't bowl wide balls as it would be called a wide. Having said his major struggle in short format was against spin. He camped on the backfoot on this slow track and played with ease.
