Indian influence on social media

Interestingly the term "internet Hindus"  was coined one of those elite liberal wannabe journalists Sagorika Ghosh, wife of Rajdeep Sardesai. At the time in around 2012, she was referring to growing band boisterous assertive Hindus on internet. It was a shock and novelty at the time since Hindus were historically not that assertive about their beliefs.

That was 2012. Cut to 2023. This mass of internet populus ( includes some extreme left, some extreme right boisterous and large chunk of suave English speaking indic first principles  based commentators ) is really impacting narratives. It's not just volume and reactionary folks. It's number of folks who are well and can call out BS in an articulate manner in which they understand.

Domestically it has caused great deal of irritation to intelligentsia, left liberals, authors, artists, journalists etc. But now it seems to be having very potent impact on social media space be it COVID, china, Khalistan, Pakistan, US or Israel / Palestine.

Being perhaps the largest population on social media with large number of well read English speaking folks, it is interesting to note how Indian ( not necessarily India ) will be turf on which many narrative battles will get fought.

What about CoViD? The denial of the fact that, thanks to the rapid rollout of effective vaccines, we essentially killed the pandemic?  Oh wait ... that denial is the narrative of the Trumpist SM HQ'd in Red America.

On covid.

1) When trump threatened India

2) Origin of virus which scientific community, Dr fauci and the establishment remained mum and even banned the content that spoke the obvious.

3) Blatant use of pharma to push through their vaccines in India without undergoing trials.

4) Efficacy of vaccines itself in transmission of drugs which as we find out wasn't effective to begin with.

1) Ok

2) Not obvious, but certainly plausible.

3) Perhaps

4) Not true. I am unable to post pictures, but there are charts all over ICF from over the years that debunk this.
