Our pacers generally have poor technique, also can't bat or field or captain and will drop pace under pressure, not impressive.

At least in the age group cricket, since the era of Nagarkoti / Shivam Mavi, all the editions have had 1-2 good fast bowlers who at some point have made an impact like Hangargekar, Tyagi, Akash, Bawa etc. This time around have not seen one bowler who has been consistent. Until last year, there was one from Rajasthan Salaudeen, he has been promoted to U23 cricket and maybe the reason now not part of U19 setup, similarly Bihar has a quick bowler who has been talked about in this forum, 17-18 years of age, but not part of U19 setup this year.

If we look at combined strength of both the squads, these are the bowlers...  There are a few all rounders in this mix..

  • Naman Tiwari ( Bowler - Left arm medium fast bowler )
  • Jayant Gohat ( Bowling allrounder - Medium fast bowler)
  • Prem ( Bowler - Right Arm medium fast bowler )
  • Arshin Kulkarni ( Batting all rounder - Medium Fast bowler)
  • Dhanush Gowda ( Right arm medium fast bowler)
  • Deepender Singh ( Right arm Medium fast)
  • Musheer Khan ( Batting allrounder - Left Arm Spinner)
  •  Karthick Manikandan ( Right arm Leg spinner)
  • P Vignesh ( Left Arm Spinner)
  • Murugan Abhishek(Batting allrounder Right arm off spinner)

Prem Devkar, fast bowler Mumbai u19, played in this Quad series as well, fairly tall guy, sharp pace.

Yeah he is in INdia B squad, only got a few games , he may combine with Jayant for India B's upcoming matches.

Deepender seems to be a good bowler to me, tall for age group standards in India & has a decent action. Rajasthan has a decent legacy of fast bowling.

arshin looks like a potential for white ball cricket,we don't produce many like him, batting being a one ball game he might have to show restrain if he chooses to be a genuine batsman,all-rounders on the other hand, if used accordingly can play with more freedom.Let's see how he develops.

Gowda looks a bit like porel

I wasn't that impressed from a short clip I saw of him.

Suddenly world cup has moved from sri lanka to south africa due to the turmoil in Srikanka cricket.

This is a big change in terms of preparations,  ow suddenly pace bowling all rounders will be the need of the hour, how will indian authorities manage to chose the right side for south africa will have to be be seen.

It would be alien conditions for all the players since  there have not been a tour to south africa since the last series in 2020.

Squad will be more pace oriented now.

Surprising to see Arshin / Musheer both of them with huge performances in the previous tournaments, have not set the tournament alight, both of them have had flashes of performances but both are genuine allrounders.. Waiting for them to have strong performances to boost up their confidence. there are few other all rounders too, India will need many all rounders if they are to do well in the world cup..

Musheer has done well. Arshin has not .
