From one of the best prospects to not even being picked at the base price in IPL, unreal downfall.

He isn't picked!

I would sign him for the base price. This is the kick he needed to wake him up. Something for a franchise to take a punt on, and also a lesson for other youngsters that things can go pear shaped quickly if you don't keep on working on the game.

I remember reading what pointing said. When he was not batting well, bro didn't even want to practice to work on his weakness. Compared to when he was making runs, he would bat non-stop during practice. No matter how much talent you have, with work ethics like that, its not a surprise he didn't get a team.

We can sheet on Kohli/Rohit as much as we want, but their work ethic is right there with top athlets - rohit hits the kitchen a bit more than gym but you get the point.

difference between Kohli/Rohit and Shaw is that fame got to Shaw's head a lot sooner. You saw Kohli change in 2018-19. For Rohit it was over the last couple of years. At their peak they did the hard yards. Shaw didn't, and he doesn't have the performances in the bank which Kohli & Rohit do.

Prithvi Shaw is complete opposite of Buddy Hield (for anyone that follows NBA).

From abusive household, a fatal neighborhood, make shift basketball hoop, sleeping in the practice facility, practicing all hours of day and night to All American honors, B12 POY, NBA lottery pick and has made $120M in the NBA so far. He was not a naturally gifted prodigy but he had seen Kobe and he became obsessed about making it to the NBA.

Yashasvi has a fantastic story too.

Prithvi Shaw is finished as a cricketer. I only hope that he has saved / invested his money and has the social support and emotional security to not become another Kambli or Sadanand Vishwanath.

Not being selected by a single IPL team for his base price is definite proof that the entire cricket fraternity has given up on him.

Think about that for a moment. The leading decision makers, owners and influencers in the game have all decided not to have him.

This the end stage, culminating from his lifestyle, his terrible physique, his being dropped from the national and state teams.

or just the kick on the backside he needed. Still 25, lot of time if he can get his act together.Start with fitness and take it from there.

These are the storeis everyone loves to hear. Pretty sure Hardik's family was in poverty too. But stories like Shaw pisses me off. Can you imagine representing a country which has one of the highest population on planet earth and then acting like a total dick. To get that chance is like winning the lottery ... instead this guy put more emphesis on partying.

He can migrate to USA like Unmukt Chand and play there.

I have seen him in county second division this season and he looked decent. Not the class that is needed to play for India but can fit perfectly for teams like US

Would be extremely sad if he moves to another country. Unmukt wasn't that talented and he couldn't even make it to Ranji teams. Shaw OTOH had the world at his feet and one of the few who looked comfortable at intl level.

I had high hopes from him and thought he would take over the Sehwag role of an attacking opener for us. Unfortunately looks like it may not be. But I believe he'll get chances. There'll be an injury in IPL and some teams will look for him. He has to be ready for that opportunity. He's way too talented not to get another chance. He has to make the most of it when that happens.
