i have nothing against isreal, its just that india a should be playing with teams which can atleast compete. a team which gets 53 all out & loses in 6 overs doesnt look to be competitive. but i can understand the purpose of spreading cricket in isreal

After capitulating for just 52 runs on Sunday, the Israel team will be proud of scoring 233 all out in its innings, but was still well short of India's 313 for five. India A now leads the three-match series 2-0 and the Israel Invitation XI will only have pride to play for in the third and final match at Ashdod on Wednesday. "It was an excellent performance and I hope for even better in the final match," Israel Cricket Association chairman Stanley Perlman said. The series was organized as part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel. The Israel team is made up of Jewish cricketers from all round the world, including former South African international Adam Bacher. Bacher put in a superb batting performance for the hosts, scoring 74 runs off 57 balls in an innings which included a massive eight sixes. Jonty Rhodes, one of the best fielders the game has known, was also included in the squad but retired injured on Monday after scoring three runs before pulling a hamstring. He was adjudged run out. The Indian team, which includes fringe players and those who have caught the eye of the Indian selection committee during the recent Indian Premier League tournament, won the toss and elected to bat. M. Vijay top-scored for the visitors with 76 runs while Cheteshwar Pujara, the 20-year old who finished as the 2006 Under-19 World Cup's highest scorer, was not far behind with 74 runs. Rajat Bhatia showed his all round skills by scoring 55 with the bat, before taking three Israeli wickets. After India A completed its 50 overs the Israelis came into bat full of confidence. While Bacher took control, Molins was also impressive, scoring 55. But the opening pair could not do enough to inspire their teammates to victory and the Israelis were bowled out far off their target. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't know that Jhonty Rhodes was playing for Israel!!! But what sort of a series is that? Have the players gone there just to play three one dayers? Or are they going to play some 3 day matches too? AIS v India , 50 overs, Round I, 15 Jul Today the first round of one day of the tournament was played and India has defeated AIS by 5 wickets with 7.4 overs to spare.

Dhawan has scored 75 runs but Badri stood till the end, unbeaten with 83 runs to his name. Tiwari surprisingly came at #5 and scored 24 runs while Nayar scored 41 runs at #4. But there is some mistake certainly in the scorecard since it says: FOW:14(S Dhawan) 140(A Rahane) 201(A Nayar) 243(M Tiwari) 267(V Kohli) Earlier, India was penalised 6 runs for slow over rate, Pankaj Singh took the first three wickets and Misra took 2 wicket including that of the ton-hitter keeper of AIS, Wade. Badri and Trivedi took a wicket each which Gony went wicketless and was quite expensive too. In the other match, NZ defeated SA when they successfully chased the target of 94 set by the Proteas in just 27.4 overs.

pankaj singh is tall & strongly built, was there in the squad for the test matches against aus, he doesnt bowl at too much of a pace, is usually in the 130s, and his strength is mainly swing, he has a good outswinger & inswinger. was impressive last year in the zim & kenya tour with india a

He seems to be adept at bowling in 4 day cricket on flat pitches, as for Rajasthan and in Africa for India A - this tour of Australia should help him to hone his ODI skills on lively pitches. Good to see Pankaj get a chance to work on several parts of his game.

i do hope badrinath & dhawan do well in this tournament & kick out robin uthappa & rohit sharma from the odi team. i would like to c both badrinath & dhawan in the champions trophy squad later this year. although dhawan isnt in the 30-probables, but that shouldnt matter much as players outside the probables can also be selected, it happened recently with sehwag in the aus tour as well

incase u guys dont know, but the AIS team has 2 indian players from the mrf academy. this raymond guy in the ais team is an indian. and his full name is aaron varun raymond. the other indian in the ais team is skand dinesh vohra

yaar come on...i read all your posts...and read #53 post again... there is no mention of Raina there... there is only one team from india..which is playing in Australia.. and Badrinath is the captain....when Patel returned to india...and Raina was sent as his replacement.. Now i see all other players playing...but Nor Raina..?
