India Captains who won ICC Events

Selectors should've gone for Rohit Sharma as the captain after Dhoni. Rohit was at his peak at the time and was a wonderful leader as you could see in IPL at the time. Worst case scenario, BCCI should've stripped Kohli of captaincy after the CT2017 fiasco. Along with removing Kumble, they should've also taken away captaincy from Kohli and given it to Rohit.

India would've really done much better with Rohit at the helm in those tourneys (2017 CT, 2019 WC) as he showed in the last 2 tourneys. We've seen the team improve every time under him from 2022 WT20 to 2023 WC to 2024 WT20. He plugged in gaps and the team improved every single tourney. With Kohli at the helm it was the same throughout. There was no improvement in team combo or intent just like RCB and we failed the same way, i.e. top heavy with no intent shown by the top order and implosion in a knockout.

Rohit learned his lessons and made the right changes. If he had been the captain after Dhoni he would've made these changes a lot earlier instead of wasting 3-4 tourneys the way Kohli did.

Yeah that's basically the CT

Format was worse than CT. We didn’t play WI at all in that tournament. We defeated Aus, Eng , Pak in group stage. Defeated NZ in semis and WI lost to Pak in Semis and we defeated Pak again. Nehru Cup was like CT but with lesser teams - no NZ in 1989!  We can claim that B&H World championship at least had all teams participating at that time (SA came back only in 1991)

Definitely missed out on 2 3 titles wirh rohitaaa

2017 would have been easy win under him

2019 too I fully believe we take the wc if he was captain

We are capable of beating anyone that year. All were in peak. Dhawan injury hurt us that's about it.
