Go easy on the Bazball approach!

India is buying too much into its own Bazball hype. Tbh we need only 2 Bazball type players in the team. It's clear Jaiswal and Pant are best suited for this. Rohit needs to drop the selfless team man gimmick and bat like a proper batsman, Gill and Sarfaraz too need to stop pleasing their social media followers by being over attacking.

Right now there is no player who is willing to play time.  If we had this kind of approach in 2018/2021 Australia tour we would have lost both.   Ashwin and Vihari (both injured) batted out 43 overs against intense examination.  Then Pujara in 2018 batted 1200 deliveries in a single series.  This is one reason we see inexplicably dramatic collapses from India. Heck even Srilanka has far better shot selection.

There is no bazball approach in ind batting, 3 out of Ind's top 4 are nt even averaging below or near to 35.

Its only the middle order or lower middle order is getting runs for Ind for last 3/4 yrs, there have major been rescue jobs by lower-middle order it all the test series in lst 3/4 years.

 

Where else eng bazball top4 scores heavily at a vry brisk rate, you cannot play bazball when you are 2 down for 50-60 runs. Ind has been lucky that they have been getting runs from Ashwin, jadeja, Thakur, Sundar etc on refular basis, this was the series where they didnt score and Ind's batting is getting exposed.

 

Rohit, Gill, Kolhi, KL -- this is top 5 of Ind test batting who  u could trust with runs in lst 3/4 years  ......?? no1 has been reliable batter

They are going to take "Baz ball" to football? lol  How will they implement.  I suppose goal keeper every 10 player will try tscore a goal?
