Rohit - our own Mike Brearly!

Surely that's the only reason he's in the team coz as a batter he's worse than a tailender at the moment. Or maybe he's a specialist nightwatchman who's there to play 10 deliveries an innings.

As Boycs would say, "Roooobish!" :)

I saw Brearley bat. Overall, he was a much worse batter than Rohit (if we take their entire careers into account) and a much better captain.

You can get Boycott's great grannie in there and she would probably bat better than him at the moment. Batting average of 4 in 1st innings across 7 Tests. Let this sink in. That's not just poor, these numbers are pathetic even for a no. 11!

Don't care about overall as we can't wind back the clock. The fact that Rohit has been allowed to play despite averaging 4 across 7 1st innings across 7 Tests means he's in Brearly category. That means he's so poor he's in the team not for his batting but for his captaincy.

brearley was chosen for captaincy, because he was good at it. unlike rohit

So our Brearly can't even captain :hysterical:

I guess this is the definition of "can't bat, can't bowl, can't field, can't captain"

Does Gambhir have the balls to drop Rohit? At least Ashwin could have batted better and bowled.

Gambhir is a sad sack of mediocrity. tactically poor, bad at communicating & inspiration, etc. He is just a BCCI stooge

Gambhir can't overrule Jay Shah. Jay Shah has anointed Rohit captain for eternity along with a spot for Kohli in the team. These two can't be outed by any coach.

Lolli, for one, is arguably even bigger than Jay Shah (unless Amit Shah intervenes explicitly). Lolli's status among "regular" Indian public is such that even if selectors (backed by Shah) wanted to drop him, the outcry would not allow it to happen

That's why it's the selectors and BCCI who have to drop Rohit and Kohli. A coach can't do that for you.

No one can drop Lolli. Only Modi-ji can
