Ind-Aus rivalry might become Ind-Pak level toxic

India- Pak cricket rivalry is probably the most toxic rivalry in cricket. Afghan- Pak  is definitely worse but at this point of time they don’t have that much of a history as cricket rivals.

Teams like Bangladesh especially at junior level are soon becoming extremely toxic  and irritating but they obviously won’t amount to much in the larger scheme of things as they are not good enough and still minnows.

Sport can throw up unpredictables so once in a while we might slip up and face the brunt of these Bangla fans  but 95% times it will be an ass-kicking into silence, submission and heart-break.

India- Pak rivalry is watered down to me these days. Never cared for boring Ind-Pak test matches maybe except 1 or 2 .

In white ball due to factors such as: emergence of Afghanistan cricket

Pakistan’s team going on a downward spiral Indian team being a top white ball team

Have definitely added to this.

Also with the emergence of social media notice that most Pak influencers suck up to Indian cricketers for Indian audience  engagement for $$$.

I still don’t won’t to lose to Pakistan but I don’t won’t to lose to Srilanka,Afghanistan Bangladesh or Nepal either. All loses hurt but losing to these teams is a redline for me.

Ashes seems like a conflict between 2 racist white groups. They are either all awww shucks all lovey-dovey with each other or taking below the belt personal potshots at each other. At least India-Pak players don’t get personal. They merely attack each others religion, economy, politics etc.

India- Australia are probably the top 2 teams in the world on equal footing. India is a growing power, Australia is a developed country and in terms of world stature more or less on equal footing on a lot of matters.

Australians have always had racist tropes against Indians and with all the hate right now online against Indian immigrants it will only amplify and get more toxic for us.

Indians in these countries who have primary  interest in cricket and also

add the money to spend on cricket will push them to the edge. Already seeing a lot more toxicity this series.

I think it’s good for cricket in a way but I also think this cricketing rivalry is about to get more toxic. This will be an interesting ride.

You can find tons of it on Reddit - like the Cricket redidt

Can't see that happening unless India suddenly produced a world class rugby team.

Indo-pak game madness will start in few weeks and no one will remember what happened in Australia.
