White ball cricket is inevitably heading toward a football-style ecosystem: franchise leagues as the bread and butter, with one definitive World Cup every four years. At this rate, we’ll be there in five years, especially with the India-Pakistan shenanigans acting as a catalyst. I’d actually be happy to see the Asia Cup scrapped and Ind-Pak matches become a rarity again. You’re clearly a fan of the current overkill; I'm just ready for something more sustainable. That's all I have to say on the subject. That part I agree, they are playing too many ICC tournaments. There was never a need for t20 world cup to be held every two years. ICC is after money , they are getting paid by TV networks too.How is this fault or greed of BCCI.You want BCCI to stop playing these ICC tournaments. Asia cup was always important for Asian bloc, it should be there for the benefit of smaller Asian teams.
mishra Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I think ICC will stop depending on India Pakistan fixture from now on. ICC Operational cost is not going to go down. If there is less revenue, It can only cut the money it gives to Member states. And Pakistan will be made to loose biggest share. ICC will stop marketing India Pak rivalry and create new rivalries.

Had to happen at some time. This current model is not tenable. Pakistani boasting that their revenue is much better now , let them contribute a third of what bcci provides to the icc coffers
bsriharsha Posted February 12 Posted February 12 https://arthnova.com/cricket-boards-dependent-on-india-financially/#:~:text=ICC Revenue Distribution (2024-2027,): $34.51 million (5.75%) And simple option to what India can do. Bcci can demand from icc that the revenue it gives to ICC isn't given to pcb/bcb. Proper accounting books and all , if the other countries want to contribute money to those two countries , then it's their headache. The Indian audience is still bankrolling their cricket and their boards to a large extent. Even if india doesn't play bilaterals against the two of them. mishra 1
bsriharsha Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The revenue loss from the India Pakistan matches which is basically because of India. Let's face it. (Pakistan takes much more money from icc than what it gives to them). Offset that with the ICC organizing quadrangular t20i / odi series etc with the Indian team one of the participants. The problem with cricket is the meaningless bilateral limited over series. Bring back proper tournaments for those. India tour of Australia can coincide with England touring NZ for instance. The four countries can play a quadrangular series. Make limited over cricket have value and you'll find that icc can offset the loss from not having india and pakistan play each other for quite a bit mishra and addicted4444 2
bsriharsha Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Or it can be a triangular with south africa , india , srilanka. Get enough of those series in place and then let pcb/bcb chutyas play by themselves
bsriharsha Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The T20 / ODI quandrangular don't even need to involve majority of the guys playing test cricket. Three formats, three teams (with some players playing both formats if possible )
