are they literaaly close by?

Around 7 km.
Usually they charge Rs. 200-300 for the distance..now it's hovering at 500 (at times even going to 750-800, through rarely).

Lol they charging roughly around usa prices. Maybe here its a lil more 10-18 depending on hrs of the traffic n surge prices. Anyway sold alllll my cars minus gfs. I like premier uber. No valeting, no need to worry, just sit and enjoy the ride.  Sometimes uber wait can be long as i live by a lake. But when i come to india i either get park hyatt rental for the month ( then i realized i used to have a driver who owns a rental company with drivers who got me same Mercedes and driver n available  at my hotel till midnight if needed to go anywhere). Park hyatts monthly rental with drivers for Mercedes was 3.5lakhs for 8 hrs a day. And rental company guy charged me 1.6lakhs. So yea usa hotels rape u there. BUT uber was pretty cool if driver was late i would just open my uber n it says driver is here within few mins (getting down from room and out takes 5mins lol). Some drivers were weird tho and they wouldnt stop looking at me n my fiance (white/italian) :phehe:

Looks like so called reform called BNS is crap.

BNS may be fine but this is blatant misuse.

How is the car driver at any fault here.

Yeah, taxi apps do charge abnormally high, mostly cause they know the gap between supply and demand.
If I've to catch a flight from airport at 7 AM, need to leave home by 4:30-4:40 AM....Airport cab charges will cost close to 1000 courtesy of "night charges". Same during the day it will charge around 650-700, close to 40% surge in the price. 10-15% I can still understand, 40% is just absurd.

Mumbai sub-urban stations require immediate modification.
The infra is suitable for the 90's, but the population has grown since then but the facility hasn't.
Instead of spending money on the Gandhinagar or Rani Kamlapati stations modernization (which frankly don't see even 15% of footfall which Mumbai suburban station faces), it would have been wiser to develop Thane, Kalyan and Dadar first.

Dadar West entrance was worse than a ghetto in 2017, not sure how much it has changed. Dadar Ctrl was comparatively better but even that was chaotic with haphazardly parked vehicles around.
