fineleg
Both will drop catches, battingwise Parthiv Patel is better, and KKD will score single digits. Between the two catch-droppers, I vote PP for Test-1. We'll see how he does in Test1. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
batting wise both r okay.. wicketkeeping wise I dunno..Parthiv used to be very bad b4. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
I will go with parthiv still cuz his battign form has been better. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
I helped tie the poll at 12-12....:d Link to comment
Chaos
i will go with who can catch 10/10 cuz catches win games, forgot about them scoring runs against murali and co. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
i will go with who can catch 10/10 cuz catches win games' date=' forgot about them scoring runs against murali and co.[/quote'] We need to chose one outaa 2 and none of the 2 can catch 10/10..At best 6/10...so pick one. Link to comment
satishg
i dont think AK would pick Parthiv ahead of KKD..Kumble must still have nightmares thinking of bowling with Parthiv behind the stumps..so KKD will definitely make it to the first test.. Link to comment
Desi Cartman
Both of them are bad keepers but I do find Mr Patel's batting a bit better ... its 13:13 :haha: Link to comment
Predator_05
They are both competent batsmen, especially Parthiv, but they aren't good 'keepers. Karthik used to be a decent 'keeper, but he wasn't convincing in his most recent performances. I suppose he will be one who gets the nod. The paucity of options makes me wish this guy was young enough to play for India; Link to comment

The paucity of options makes me wish this guy was young enough to play for India; I agree that Mongia was one of the best keeper ever for Team India but I hate him for being involved in match fixing and even though the courts couldnt find enough evidence but I am convinced that he was involved. How can I forget the run outs that Mr Mongia and Azhar caused in late 90s .. bastards  Link to comment

Ram
Nayan Mongia? Zero athleticism( he never got off the ground), mediocre batsman....Good only against spinners. Apart from that, there was nothing remarkable about him. No wonder we hardly won a thing he was around. Link to comment
Holysmoke
Mongia was f'in useless. Even Akmal is a better player. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
This is going all the way down to the wire.......13-13 C'mon guys vote. You just might be the decider of this poll.....dont u feel special? Link to comment
Desi Cartman
Try reading that sentence to yourself without chuckling. I dont find anything funny in my statement. Neither Azhar nor jadeja were convicted either. I remember the games where he ran his partners out ! Link to comment
satishg
Mongia can never dive and take a catch..he was a decent keeper nothing more to him..and an OK batsman..but one thing he wont drop catches so that made him the best option at that time..heck v din have anyone to challenge him at all.. amits
dinesh kartik is one of the best keepers behind the stumps in india. and in tests, the wicket-keeping ability of a batsman should matter & not batting ability. for batting we have 6 world-class batsmen already in the xi and parthiv isnt a great batsman. he can score quickly & he cant even hit a 6 Link to comment
King
I opted for Karthik. I believe Parthiv is better batsman than Karthik but his keeping is as bad as Akmal's. Karthik although looks unassured most of the times he did well against South Africa in South Africa and England in England. I'd rather go with someone that has opened consistently and has scored some runs rather than someone that hasn't played test cricket for sometime. It's a three test series so Parthiv's chance will come if Karthik doesn't perform. My bet, Anil Kumble is going to favour Karthik because he was part of the tour when Karthik did well in SA and England. On a different note, India will miss Dhoni's keeping dearly I think. Dhoni's wicket keeping has been terrific over the last couple of years. I've lost count on the number of great takes he has taken overseas. Link to comment
amits
kumble himself would opt for dinesh kartik looking at his keeping. kumble has been known to be unhappy over parthiv dropping catches. parthiv was a worser wicket-keeper than even deep das gupta Link to comment
flamy
Obviously Karthik will get the nod. He is South Indian. :D Link to comment
