Rajiv Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Cricket to iPhone http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/gadgetell-review-pinnacle-video-transfer/ NO PC required ( to record ) If you have PSP or IPOD - then it records directly but since its only iTunes for iPhone, then the native recording format is MP4 with 3 different modes of recording So you can attach a USB drive or an external HDD to it, record, and then it takes about 2 mins to transfer a 45 min video, pull the USB -> insert in PC to itunes and sync So you cut the software solution of encoding video to MP4 and then sync Works great
Dinx - the Jinx Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Buying iPhone in US to be used in India - need info hey guys, a friend of mine has gone to san jose for two weeks of training and I had this brilliant idea :haha: of asking her to buy an iPhone for me which I could use here in India initially the plan was to buy the gadget at the subsidized price through the at&t contract. later found that its not going to work out for me as she doesnt hve a credit history there and its not viable to ask any other friend to take the risk of getting into a contract to help me get the phone. so the idea was dropped. so i asked her to buy the hone at its original price (which is still less compared to its price in india), without a contract. she enquired at bestbuy and tells me now that its not possible to buy without a contract. given this situation, can anyone suggest me if there is anyway she can buy the phone without contract and bring it to india where I can use it w/o having to do jailbreak? when she said, "no contract, no phoe, even if you are ready to pay original price" - i was like :omg: i cudn't believe. i fought with her that she may be wrong and challenged that i'll find a way. now banking on you guys to show me the way. if not best buy, where else we can try to get it without contract? i have another 24 hous to get the info and pass it onto her. please help
Holysmoke Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 she's right. If you really want it, buy it from India. I know its ridiculously expensive.. but then you get the warranty and all that.. jailbreaking and using is a risk.. and I dont know if the 3g can be unlocked?
Dirty_South Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I dont know if the 3g can be unlocked? wats the use of 3G in India :giggle:
Dinx - the Jinx Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 wel.. 3G is not gonnu be of any use as of now. all i'm looking for is to get a hand on an iphone at a cost thats slightly lower than in india. so, are yo guys suggesting that there's no way I can buy an iphone frm US withut a contract ?
Rajiv Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Nope, it can be unlocked but offcourse u have to jailbreak..my opinion, get it from India They are already recalling the power adapators sold in US/Canada

fineleg Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 wel.. 3G is not gonnu be of any use as of now. all i'm looking for is to get a hand on an iphone at a cost thats slightly lower than in india. so, are yo guys suggesting that there's no way I can buy an iphone frm US withut a contract ? romba kashtam (translated: very difficult, so she's right)
nospam Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Nope, it can be unlocked but offcourse u have to jailbreak..my opinion, get it from India They are already recalling the power adapators sold in US/Canada 3g (2.x) cannot be soft-unlocked, it can only be jailbreaked. iphone first gen can be both unlocked and jailbreaked. people selling iphone 3g unlocked on ebay are from italy/belgium/some European country (where it's legal to buy an unlocked phone by paying extra)
coffee_rules Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Airtel is offering iphone. Go buy from them with a contract or wait out a bit, prices will drop. It is best to cover the damn this on warranty. Better yet wait for Google 3G phone, costs 1/3rd of iphone with identical features. Damn Apple and it's products. I am sick of them playing the "Hi, I am Mac" ads. What a load of rubbish!
Ram Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Just out of curiosity; How much does an iphone cost in India?
