Auqib Nabi’s bubble bursts! With no pace, no variety, no Plan B, is he really the next big thing in Indian bowling?

Dale Steyn :afraid:

That's bit too much.

I can still go with Richard Hadlee or Shaun Pollock, but Dale Steyn is bit too much for a 120-130kph trundler.

Steyn will hit those speeds in his 50s.

BTW...out of context, was watching Morne Morkel bowl an over in Khatron ke Khiladi season opener..he was still operating at 141-143k (though I doubt the speed gun, but still it was rapid).

If he still has arm speed he can achieved 80% of his top speed.

He reminds me of Mohammad abbas in terms of operating speed. But Mohammad Abbas takes a lot of wickets somehow on all surfaces. For a trundler 22 average is impressive bit like Robinson who often operates at 79 mph. He also has decent average.

Even Philander was very effective when he bowled <130kmph mainly due to his red ball skills and accuracy.

I think Robinson was quicker (140-ish) at the start of his career and became a trundler recently.

I think both Robinson & Philander are tall as well.

Nabi I believe is around Shami's height, so unless he can generate reverse swing, he will basically become another B Kumar in Tests, who will bowl 8-10 overs with the new ball and then for next 60 overs will sit and cool his heels.

Bubble burst right into the indian team? Lol

Didn't even bowl in warm up... They simply don't rate him and probably just to keep ret@rded Indian YouTube journos and dehati fans on a leash they included him in squad.

No one wants to say it but Ranji Trophy is crap and probably as bad as Sri Lankan school level cricket.  But at least they teach kids how to sweep.

All the Lankan batters today I saw knew how to sweep.  They may not be as talented as Indians but at least fundamentals are good to begin with
