He played because he could bat a bit in addition to his bowling. While Ashwin and Kapil will get chances as bowlers even if they averaged 5 with the bat. There has to be a demarcation between the two. Gemini is new to cricket. Whatever you choose to call them but players can't be put down for having added skills. And this is happening with Saransh and happening a lot with other players with added skills too. They are being dubbed as fake allrounders etc. The only thing to look at here is .... whether they deserve chances due to their primary skill. I am not a fan of Saransh. But I think he has the credentials to replace Kuldeep because both are frontline bowlers .. ( I guess this will be a term acceptable by all ). Ashwin and Kapil became great in bowling later. However if they lost form they would get longer rope because they could contribute with the bat. Both have played great innings with the bat However someone like Prasidh or even Kuldeep will get dropped faster if they lost form. Gemini is sourcing from google only. Its not putting them down to second skill but recognizing they are expected to contribute with the bat

Same for Sundar I'm not sure... Offies are a scarce resource in Indian domestic cricket. The only other option is Kotian and he is an actual all rounder, in that he is probably less effective a bowler but seems a much better bat than Jain . I would think that's why Jain edged him in squad and A team selection

Kotian missed it I think
