Texy Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 And yes...there is regional bias...especially towards bengal/bengalis in general in India.... but things are changing now....BCCI is still a strong marathi strong hold but hopefully things will change.....I'm very aware of cricketers from Bengal ranji team being sidelined and all that....but hey end of the day....I still believe in India so keeping my fingers crossed.... I would like to say....I visited Chittagong in 2003...went to Cox bazar....had a great time.... people in general were quite nice and very friendly compared to people from kolkata.....and I hope things stay like that in BD for a long long time..... I have also noticed....for muslims...Islam/religion comes 1st but for Hindus in general...nationalism comes 1st and that's the difference in thinking also. Also.... here in houston, texas, USA....I have noticed....bangladeshi muslims hardly ever invite bengali indians to their programs but bengali hindus always invite bangladeshi singers, artists and people in general to their functions. For ie, NABC --- North American Bengali Conference....every year...they invite artists from bangladesh....
Desi Cartman Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 btw after Manoj Prabhakar delhi didnt have a player in the XI for a loong time, so does it mean that BCCI had something against players from delhi ? For Bengal , I think couple of openers who were tried in the late 90s came from WB. Sourav was the CAPTAIN for a very long time. Debashish Mohanty was given chances .. so STFU about regional bias :finger:. There r only XI spots and how many states are in India ?????? so u want a quota system or a better XI. To our friend from BD ... its better if u take care of what is happening in BD then to worry about us. I know for a fact that there was a war in 71 when BD was liberated from the people who disowned u .. didnt give u money to buy food , created no employment opportunities and now u have balls to wave their flag when they play play cricket in front of your crowds... Thank god BD isnt a part of India .. Good Luck !

Texy Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Closed circuit cameras have captured the bomb cars at Pune Toll gates ......cops are confident that terrorists had local support....w/o which this is impossible.... The target was to destroy Gujrat.... 9 bombs that didn't explode luckily could have killed hundreds!!
