"There will be more or less the same combination of the Indian team for tomorrow's match," Kumble told reporters. The Indians are trailing the three-Test series 0-1 after losing the opening match inside four days in Colombo, collapsing against the spin duo of Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis. Kumble, although describing the loss as a collective debacle, admitted that Dinesh Karthik's failure was the most worrying aspect of the loss. "Karthik's performance was a matter of concern, but we are not pin-pointing the performance of any one person. The Indian team as a whole failed to perform well in the last Test. However, the veteran spinner said the team was confident of bouncing back in the second Test. "We will try to come up with a better performance," he said.

For some reason , Karthik always seems to have the backing of Kumble , Heck this guy was practically shipped to Aussie on the insistence of Kumble ... Mad Colonel had other ideas at that time.

I am not a KKD fan. But "last ever"? (he is 23 years only, so he may get to play again). Extravagant remark - and if someone says FL makes extravagant remarks, I can say MM too :D

Well, Karthik is 23 and not getting any younger. Parthiv is 24, but his pre-adolescent looks means all he has to do is to go to the local Registrar's office and get his DoB changed to 1994 without anyone batting an eye-lid. Dhoni is not yet 27. The only good news for Karthik is that he is an excellent fielder. But the bad news, he cant field, since he is a wicket-keeper. And the worse news is, his batting and keeping skills are as good as Lalu's English. So, all in all, Karthik can give up cricket and pursue his family business or something.

KKD mite actually come gud in this match..u neva know..like wen it is make or break u know how a guy raises up to the challenge..jus like VVS in sydney 1999..it always happens in a player's career so if he plays this match i have a strong feeling that he is gonna come good..

The best thing about Dropthiv, apart from his usual pathetic keeping is, you really have to buy his wicket, when he is batting. He has a lot of spunk as a batsman. Not to say that KKD doesnt, but Dropthiv has more.
