Initially it can be done part-time with your regular job. once you realize the potential you would definetely want to go full-time.... I have been in this profession since 2006...and I wish someone had me told about its potential 8 years ago when I moved to this beautiful country. Anyone who has a good network of family and friends can get a good start and work towards being a sucessesful Realtor. There is very good income...for instance....if you sell a house worth $500,000 then you make $7500 on a single end...and if you are lucky to get a direct buyer...you can make upto $16,000. most of the deals are single-ends coz there is always a seller's Realtor & Buyer's Realtor involved in a deal. I earn a decent income from the comfort of my home.....I'm my own boss...:yay:...best part is...can watch my fav cricket any time...and schedule my work accordingly....:two_thumbs_up: A very active Realtor can sell upto 25 properties in a year...there are some top ones who sell over 100 properties a year...even if you sell 6 in a year...still a decent income. I hope this bit can be helpful to any of you guys out there.

The course(optional) fee, deal fee and monthly fee are the only expenses.

Willow_on_fire Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 But you got have the tools to market yourself, else there are realtors in a bunch out there ( mostly women ) in this profession This would be my retirement side job Agreed Rajeev...yes...there are equally or more sucessesful women Realtors...especially the ones with a very good personality...it is very common as men for us not to just ignore them when they approach you for a listing...there is always that soft corner for the ladies...:winky:...hence they are doing well too. but mostly in the Residential side...the commercial side is dominated by men though. and also...I know engineers who earn more than 50K in regular jobs...and also do Real Estate on the side.
