CC1981 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Simply unbeleivable !! Well done China. Hands down, the most spectacular and entertaining opening ceremony i've seen at the Olympics. Love em or hate em for whatever reasons, it is an awesome display. My God was it awesome. Hats off China- nobody can showboat like her ! :hatsoff:
Sachinism Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Yeh amazing opening ceremony props to them some pics http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/08/2008_olympics_opening_ceremony.html
Lurker Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I am watching Li Ning walk in air. Splendid. I suppose its time to tacidly admit China has left us far far behind in the lurch..
PaiN_KiLLeR Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 43 Billion USD were spent on the preparations for the Games. That is about 170,000 crore Indian rupees ... simply mind boggling. The olympic stadium & the aquatic centre look kick-ass ... something we can never even dream of building. Opening ceremony was good, especially the fireworks and lighting the olympic torch at the end.
SachDan Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 The best opening ceremony witnessed during any games...simply awesome..Not even after another 10 years,we would be able to match that.
Rajiv Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 The best opening ceremony witnessed during any games...simply awesome..Not even after another 10 years' date='we would be able to match that.[/quote'] 10 years is long time buddy, and if anything stuff like this gets better
Texy Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I believe since 1984.....china has won over 200 gold medals in Olympics.... India won 3............ isn't that a national shame?
Dirty_South Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I believe since 1984.....china has won over 200 gold medals in Olympics.... India won 3............ isn't that a national shame? Their population is more....compared to us :cantstop:
fineleg Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 To above remark on China's population (noted that it had a smiley at the end :D) - Our population is more than Sri Lanka, and still they are whooping us in cricket (admittedly though the series is played in their back yard!)
cybervickey Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I believe since 1984.....china has won over 200 gold medals in Olympics.... sandtest Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Stopped watching news reports of opening ceremony....Blame joker news reporters of India. The problem with these on-field news reporters is that they take news reporting as some speech competition and blaa blaah blaah continously without any value info. for viewers, complete nonsense without a pause, no clear compact summary of information. This channel "headlines today" folks are complete idiots. Instead, I nowadays I prefer reading news from Internet. Option of so many sources to verify till satisfaction.
sandtest Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I feel opening ceremony of Chinis was a wannabe gora type!! Looking at all western style dressing, teenage Chini cheerleader girls imitating 100% western (and you thought China can only copy and mass manufacture cheap goods). At least our money lusty BCCI baffoons in IPL didn't imitate west, instead they directly imported goree gals to dance on our tunes thereby eliminating any doubt..:giggle: Actually this exposed the inferiority compex within Chincommie mentality is much worse than we Indians are informed mainly because of very tight control by dictatiorial Chinese Communist Party hold on PRC government and censoring all media. The only main news source Xinhua on internet too is CPC controlled and news is 100% filtered and edited.
CC1981 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 I feel opening ceremony of Chinis was a wannabe gora type!! Yet, you know nothing about goras and nothing about the chinese...using technology isnt wanting to be gora-type...china's opening ceremony was largely about CHINESE culture, arts and crafts. If Chinese opening ceremony is 'gora-wannabe type', then your Akshadhram is entirely gora-crowd-pleasing type with just indian architecture and thats it. Looking at all western style dressing, teenage Chini cheerleader girls imitating 100% western Dude, the whole world is western style dressed...today you will find way more under 30 yr olds in INdia- fom the most non-descript villages to the cities- wearing pants and shirts over dhotis. Sorry, but this so-called western style of dressing ( actually it isnt- ironically, pant-shirt and skirt are CHINESE style of dressing that the west eventually adopted) is far more practical and thus adopted...either way, you poking fun at china at this is hollow coz most of our own youths wear western clothing and so does most of the world. And i'd much rather have my daughters/wives wear jeans and shirt than saris - they are more comfortable and far more practical than having a 10 yard yarn wrapped around you. Sorry, archaic traditions comes much below practicality and comfort in my scale of priorities...but maybe because i am not afraid to learn from others or exchange bits of my culture for those that are clearly superior in concept/quality. At least our money lusty BCCI baffoons in IPL didn't imitate west, instead they directly imported goree gals to dance on our tunes thereby eliminating any doubt.. Ah yes...the proud substandard pauper versus the adaptable who learns from others in what others are better at...sheesh, i wonder which one is the more admirable trait. Its more honourable to imitate a superior product than stick to an inferior and backdated product due to historical affinity. Actually this exposed the inferiority compex within Chincommie mentality is much worse than we Indians are informed mainly because of very tight control by dictatiorial Chinese Communist Party hold on PRC government and censoring all media. The only main news source Xinhua on internet too is CPC controlled and news is 100% filtered and edited. wtf does that have to do with opening ceremony ? Cant you give credit where credit is due man, or are you that retarded where you cannot differentiate between politics and civilization ? The chinese civilization is every bit as great as yours- and going by recorded history, certainly more accomplished in engineering and political feats. They deserve your respect, particularly when they've done a good job. You sound like the bitter old lady who cannot give complement to her rival, nomatter what. Whether you like it or not, fact is, China's opening ceremony was the BEST EVER in ANY field of sport...certainly the best ever olympics opening ceremony and certainly better than FIFA/cricket world cup etc. opening ceremonies.....these 'chincommies' as you love to say, are showing us how its done...at a level far far better than Indians have done so far.
CC1981 Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 cc u need ur weiner cut man For what ? For commending Chiina for doing a stunning job with the Olympics opening ceremony and the Olympics so far ? Maybe you need to get a weiner implant- maybe then you'd have the manliness to commend others for their accomplishments and give kudos where deserved, even if your government has a tiff with theirs. Just because you cannot appreciate anything Chinese doesnt mean i can't either.
