arkay
Bat him at no.3 At present, Mahela is so confident about Yuvi's ability that he would not mind bringing Mendis even during the first 10 overs as he fancies Yuvi getting out to Mendis Link to comment
bharat297
I know ... but still its at least something Link to comment

May be Yuvi will be able to play him when the ball is still hard. Link to comment

DomainK
Keep him going' date=' hopefully he'll get a big one soon[/quote'] Yes, he should not be fired yet. He will figure out Mendis soon. Some of the greatest batsmen took quite a few matches to fifure him out. Some others could not figure him out after many matches. Yuvi, who is otherwise a great batsman, should be given enough opportunities. Link to comment

When people start going over the great batsmen of the game ... You will hear names like ... Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist, Kallis ... i dont think Yuvi is in the same league as these guys. Sachinism
I don't see a problem with moving a batsman around in the order so what if it sends a message to the opposition that he can't play spin what would you rather have, him scoring runs at the top or him continually failing in the middle just so it doesn't look like he can't play spin? at the end of the day, winning games for India is more important than how the opposition sees it all batsmen move up or down the order some time in their career Link to comment
satishg
he has to fite it out..there is no other go..he has played international cricket for 8 years and if he cant find out a way to play mendis then we have no option but to drop him against srilanka Link to comment
DomainK
Look at Ponting. He looks like a fool while playing Bhajji, but he is otherwise very good, isnt he?Yuvraj needs to get his defense together. That will take hours and hours in the nets day and night. But he has to close that gate between his bat and pad. If he can only survive against Mendis, he can make the other bowlers look ordinary. May be we should have a bowling machine bowling spinners. You don't get to see finger or wrist movements and you only judge the delivery from the revolutions in the air. And you get to play them at varying speeds. That will help the likes of Yuvi a lot. May be you can have a Tendulkar next to you telling how you read the deliveries in the air and play them. Link to comment
cowboysfan
there is no way yuvi is getting dropped-NO WAY. Link to comment
fineleg
Get YS to open. Even if Mendis bowls in first 10 overs, with a new ball, YS may just manage it. There is no frikkin' way Yuseless can tackle Mendis after 10-15 overs. I've never before seen a player look so clueless as YS when he faces Mendis. Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
Dhoni is being a retard here. Why the hell does he have Suresh Raina at #3. Yuvraj has to be sent up the order, even if Mahela opts to bring Mendis in as early as 6th over I think Yuvraj should take the attack up to him and make complete use of field restrictions. A bit off topic but Virat played Mendis with ease. He shouldn't have thrown away his wicket Link to comment
