flamy Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Just started watching this new TV show called Fringe dealing with 'Fringe Science' - which is basically all the extracurricular thoughts that some guys have that's not explained by the laws of physics that we know. - irrelevant to discussion I am a regular at ATS and maybe I'm just more gullible, but I do believe there is 'more' to life as we know it. Mind power, Astral Projection, Aliens, Angels, Devils, "Beings", Secrets of the Universe... The thing is we are all junkies, emotional junkies. There are so many things that can make a person feel good, but so many times I have realized, it seems to me just a choice. A choice we have the power to make. Like, the choice to feel sad or feel happy or feel lazy or rejuvenated. I woke up today feeling very calm and relaxed and at peace. Like, I just had a spiritual orgasm. And, nothing much has changed in real life. Have you guys ever felt that?
Zap_Brannigan Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Aliens most probably exist but will we get in touch with them in our lifetime? The universe is huge....its probably infinite. So the freak accident that happened here on earth that created life, happening somewhere else is possible. But the show is boring. The lead actor is dumb and is plain. Even a chair has more personality than her. The guy who helps her for whatever unknown reason (eventhough she lied to him and treated him like dirt) is just a bad character. Overall the series lacks chemistry between the actors themselves and with us, the viewers. This is no x-files or lost. If you are looking for good new series, try chuck or reaper.

( site called unexplained mysteries ) I would like to believe in such things but no smoke so far
flamy Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Ya Zap, lol I have just watched half of the first ep. This has nothing to do with the TV show. Sorry, I should have been more clear. Can coincidences be really explained away? This has happened to me so many times. I call it Pre-Demand Information. I come across some new, seemingly trivial information and almost immediately find an uncanny use for it. For eg. I read in some novel or blog about post-partum depression. I had no idea what it meant and I looked it up. Then, later I come to ICF and find a there is a thread on that and I already know what the term means. And, then I watch 'House M.D.' and there is an episode on that. This is the most recent example. Almost always I have found some info that I came across by chance to be useful. I know this doesn't seem like much, and is more like selective memory and stuff but whenever this happens, I have this ethereal feeling.

Aliens maybe although they maybe single cell organisms and not the science fiction characters we are so accustomed to, all the rest of them are just hogwash till there is some credible evidence.
