Desi Cartman
M waugh stated below points before the start of play today * katich will get 200 * Hussey will get 100 * Aussies in a strong position :haha: Link to comment
bharat297
Yeah ... you guys still can win this ... But you could have put yourselves in the box seat today ... perhaps finishing the day at maybe 550 or something. Instead , you guys dropped the ascendancy and allowed us back in this game. At 2/200 ... you guys were firmly in control and you blew it. Hopefully now, India dont do the same. Its still anyones game though. Australia have produced good bowling performances before and India have collapsed before. Im hoping it wont happen tomorrow though. Link to comment

King
Before the start of the test Ponting and the rest claimed they were going to be aggressive. If this is aggressive cricket, wonder what their defensive cricket would be :winky: Link to comment
Sachinism
I think it was pretty brilliant tactics, Aussies were around 200-2, he could see the game is being taken from us. So he said, "If we aren't going to win, neither are you and if you do want to make a game of it, try something different" put in a 8-1 field and just bogged them down. The runs dried up, they couldn't march ahead and had to do something different, we got the wickets and now we're back on top Link to comment
Lord
it was downright negative n stupid from dhoni. he was just trying to compensate for stupidly letting aussies off the hook yesterday.he was lucky that aussies were even more defensive.bowlers bowled to the field n katich got a wrong decision if he had stayed things wud have been different Link to comment

Ram
We conceeded 190 runs in less than 50 overs yesterday. Obviously, there had to be a re-think and thats exactly what India did. But the Aussies just played into our hands. Guys like Katich and Hussey are not just good test players, but acclaimed ODI players too and not once did they try to improvise and score on the on side. Even if they shuffled across twice in an over and hit the ball into the vast expanses of the leg side, Dhoni would have been forced to re-think his strategy. They didnt. Quite simply, Aus played into our hands. They blew their BEST chance to retain the BG trophy. Now, India will just bat on for 4 sessions and set Australia an improbable target and laugh all the way to glory. Link to comment

Ram
We will declare towards the end of day 4 have a few overs at the Aussies No way mate. If things go well, we'll declare with a 400+ target with about 75 overs to get it and attack the Aussie batsman with men around bat like there's no tomorrow. Link to comment
Shehezaada
I actually thought it was pretty brilliant from Dhoni....BUT I think he should have attacked more in the morning and opened up with Bhajji and Khan. If the Aussies got going for about 10 overs...then he could have implemented this tactic. But it worked in the end so all's well that ends well...good job skipper! Link to comment
Ram
This is actually quite a sense of dejavu. In the first test at B'lore Australia shot themselves in their foot by playing too slow in their 1st innings. And thats exactly what happened this time too. Thank you Australia, thank you so much for so easily gifting such a wonderful chance you had to come back in the series! :D Link to comment

MundaPakistani
IND always seem to go in this defensive mode when they are 1 nil ahead... vs ENG and PAK in 2007 and now here. Link to comment
