Program on Fab 4

Gambit

Recommended Posts

Just watched it. Not a bad program but not amazing either. But still managed to bring a tear to my eye. :((
Come on Gambit!! It was an absolutely rubbish program. They were talking of that kolkata match and didn't have even 1 minute's tape of the match, they talked about Chennai 1998 but had no tapes to show, not even few shots; then Adeleide 03 or Gabba 03 and nothing to show from there. It was an absolute waste of time.

u know why they didnt show videos of those games??? because they were broadcasted by either espn or star sports that time, and hence they can't show them. neo sports can only show clips perhapz from the games which were broadcasted on ten sports or on dd or set max

Neo could have shown the tapes of all those matches played in India as the broadcasting rights are with them at the moment.

Looks like Neo Sports needs to learn a lot in terms of their programme production quality. They're a nascent channel, so they will definitely get better. Just as an aside, one of the best packaged cricket 'programme' I have seen was the Allan Border Medal of 2007. Then, the Ashes had just gotten over and guys like Langer, Warne, Martyn and McGrath had just retired. There were wonderful retirement tributes of these players from not only ex-team mates, but also their families. Then, there was Ian Healy who was inducted into the 'Hall of Fame'. Mark Nicholas did a wonderful job hosting the show. We should also have something like that in India. An event where India's top players, both domestic and international, past and present are honored.

If it was an interview program, there isn't a need to show video clips

I took a look at clips from their shows and i can now safely conclude that Neo Sports' programming is garbage. Typical 'masaledaar' shows which are made for the mass public. Any serious cricket enthusiast who knows something about the game would find them stupid. But at least they are making an effort to promote Indian first class cricket by broadcasting Ranji games. But even with the eye-candy, i could never watch crap like this, not in a million years; [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeCkvJYk1G0]YouTube - Top Sri Lankan Cricketers[/ame]

That Neo sports host is like a even slimmed down version of Harsha Bhogle. His pronounciaition of words, stresses and strains and even the vocabulary is so similar to Harsha's. Btw, what are some skimpily dressed college girls with almost no knowledge of cricket whatsoever doing in a 'cricket' show?

Yeah, very tough to listen to Radhakrishnan Sreenivasan for more than a minute. His accent is very harsh to the ear. Bhogle is far easier to put up with.
