Mr. Wicket
Oh god... Bollinger vs. the padosis could be very, very fun. FYI, Bollinger has toured Pakistan before with the A-team and had a very impressive series on flat decks. Against Pakistan in the UAE he bowled very well, and I would love to see him take on the FTB crew at home. Link to comment
Laaloo
Well, the 3 tests are scheduled to be played in Melbourne, sydney, and hobart respectively. He could be real handy on that melbourne pitch against FTBs. IIRC, sydney pitches are only conductive for fast bowling on pre lunch day 1. How's the hobart pitch? The only thing I remember about that was how the padosis complain how they were "robbed" when gilly and lehman? chased down 369 in 99? Link to comment

Pak_Forever
Asif' date='Aamir & Ajmal :hatsoff:[/quote'] If Aussies will get us out under 200, then we have a good enough attack to get them under 100. I am sure we will outperform Aussies in the bowling dept. Its only our batting which concerns me the most. Good pitch or no good pitch, we have to avoid hitting the panic mode button. If we did then series will sure be ours. Link to comment

punjabi_khota
look who's talking about FTBs? :hysterical: Err..fan of the team with the best win-loss record in OZ in last 10 years, with 4 of its batsmen averaging 50+ in OZ . :finger: Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
To elaborate a little further: Recent achievements of India's top batsman in Australia: Sachin Tendulkar: near 500 runs in his last tour of Australia, a then-career best of 241* in the previous tour in 2003-04 and man of the series in the tour before that in 99/00. Other notable performers in Australia with fine records there from the last couple of tours: Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, one of of whom has a double-century in Australia in a historic win, with the other two having outstanding averages and multiple hundreds in Australia... In contrast, Pakistan's present captain has a grand total of ONE score above fifty in Australia. And their past captain and 'greatest batsman against pace' scored in binary every time he was in Australia this decade. Want to keep talking about FTBs? We can also discuss the great showings at Perth, where India beat Australia convincingly on their last tour... and Pakistan managed to fall apart to one of their many double-digit performances on their last appearance there (and also lost to a Western Australia second XI while in the area). bharat297
I hope Phil Jaques returns back to the top side for Australia in Tests. I dont think Watson opening in Tests (despite his success of late) is a feasible long-term solution if he is going to bowl, which he will. I think in Test cricket you need 2 specialist openers. Having said that, if he doesnt open, Watson might find it hard to be in the side at all given the middle order of Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, North and Haddin. It will be interesting to see what Australia do. Well given that the West Indies are coming over I dont think it really matters anyway. Link to comment
99.94
how is Hughes doing in the domestics right now? From the matches I've seen he looks to be doing well, he hit a 50 in NSW's One Day opener, not sure about the 4 day games though. I've heard he is looking good for a test recall because I don't think Watson is long term. Still fuming about him being dropped.. Link to comment
Bradman99
He got 32 in the 4 day game, only batted once though I believe. I agree, he shouldn't of been dropped but I do see a spot for Watson in there somewhere. Link to comment
bharat297
Id pick Jaques over Hughes. I think Jaques still deserves a chance. He didnt do much wrong at International Level. Of course domestic form will play a part. Link to comment
