Captain of Bhangra
GG is just outside of the 50s in his Test Average. We would have both openers averaging 50+ in Tests if he keeps up his good form. That would be 4 of our batting line-up... Link to comment
Ram
Without doubt, Gautam Gambhir is the batsman of the year. Splendid run in both ODIs and T20s to begin with and now, finishing the year with a flourish in tests. What is remarkable is, he scored nearly 1200 runs in tests this year and yet played his first test in July! Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
David Lloyd says India are #1 in tests :D Not yet. We have to capture RSA base before tagging ourselves #1. In the same manner, RSA has to capture Indian base before tagging themselves #1 :winky: Link to comment
Sachinism
Actually 1stly we must conquer NZ Link to comment
Brainfade
Wisden needs to take a serious look at Gambhir for "Cricketer of the year" in 2008. He has performed at a high level in all 3 forms of the game, and is one of the main reasons India is in such a good place. Congratulations, GG! Link to comment
fineleg
Congrats Gambhir - well done! Link to comment

bunny
Why is no one congratulating Bhajji? He might have failed in a few individual matches but he still did well on Indian pitches. Both Gauti and Bhajji will have their work cut out once india visits Eng, SA and NZ (assuming they still make seaming pitches there). Link to comment
