Pornography on the Internet may be quite enticing but beware of browsing or downloading as that may send you behind the bars for five years with a fine that may go up to Rs 10 lakhs, the term raised to seven years on second conviction. The Information Technology (Amendment) Bill that was passed by Parliament this week without debate with as many as 45 amendments in the original Act treats both purveyors of pornography and recipients on equal footing. It gives wide powers to authorities that a computer user may realise only when he is hauled up. The worst is that an inspector can raid and haul you up without warrant. In the original Act enacted in 2000, this power was vested in the officer not below the rank of deputy superintendent of police. Some sites automatically open with pornographic pictures that may leave footprints in your computer that will be enough for an inspector to arrest and prosecute you. To satisfy the activists who campaign against child abuse, the Bill provides one full section subtitled “Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material depicting children in sexually explicit act, etc. in electronic form.†The subtitle may mislead you that just the act of browsing won’t be punishable, but the details cover everything: “Creates text or digital images, collects, seeks, browses, downloads, advertises, promotes,exchanges or distributes material in any electronic form depicting children in obscene or indecent or sexually explicit manner or cultivates, entices or induces children to an online relationship.†If any of these are found on your computer, the onus is on you to establish that those depicted are not children, defined as persons who have not completed the age of 18 years or else you will be punished even if you have not retransmitted or exchanged them with anybody. SURVEILLANCE: The inspector may not even knock at your door to check a variety of computer crimes for which you may be booked as another section of the Bill provides for any government agency to interrupt, monitor or decrypt any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer. Safeguards against misuse of this kind of electronic surveillance? What kind of a draconian bill is this, considering child molestation and child pornography the same as normal porn? This is crazy ****. And giving unlimited power to the cops again, crap, are we going the China way here.

can someone tell me when India became a country.
India became dictator country THAT day itself when Kaangress government made Shariah as seperate law. One country, one people with different laws for individual and all for the sake of vote bank, this should have been the bigger concern for you. India became dictator country when it prevented rest of Indians to move in Kashmir through constitutional amendment of 370. India became a Dictator country when it prevented Hindus from utilizing their Temple money by placing major temples of India and it's revenue under government control. India became a dictator country when it left Mosques and Churches FREE to use their money as they wish while controlling TEMPLES only. There are many such darconian biased laws effectively suppressing majority Indians since last 60 years and we see no noise from you or your kind in media.
