I have absolutely no complaints against someone trying to promote and spread his faith. Thats not an evil thing. Of course as long as he is not using improper means.
Actually, I was not talking about religious conversion. It was about "converting" a die hard Sharukh fan into a Shahrukh critic.:--D I too have no complaint against someone spreading his belief system peacefully, but it should be done openly and legally as per Indian constitution and not through some shady Charity Organization under the veil of charity work. Also understanding the complexity when there is therat of demographic change and seccession.

oops....sorry, my mistake.:o I am not an SRK fan exactly, but I like guy. The Indian movie lovers like fantastic stuff and that what SRK, KJ and Adi Chopra feed them. Not his fault now, is it? He is not a great actor, but he is the biggest star. And thats because people love him.

^ coz except for a few movies where he acted well like Swades, Chak De...in most of the other movies he overacts and i really dont like his acting. so, i find it strange so many fans like him *and* his acting. I am a fan of Aamir Khan - my fav actor.

Hahaha...they like the entertainment they get when they go to watch his movies. Heard about that term ? There is nothing sad about it. :winky: There is nothing strange about his success. Paisa Vasool is the term you are looking for. If you give people what they want, you will be successful. He is smarter than most folks in the industry. Plus he makes lots of movies and remains in public conscious all the time. Not every one likes to wait 3 years for the next movie..

It's disgusting to admit, but let's face it. I find Bollywood Hindi cinema more obssessed with "gora" color than South Indian cinema. Haven't watched many south movies for language barrier, but it's really disgusting when I see present day Hindi songs having many "goree" item girls dancing at background contrast to this in South Indian cinema, whatever I have watched in past they stick to their Indic roots and culture. No showbaazi Pakiness. The one I remember, from Kamal Hassan Virumundi movie if I recollect name right, are attached with grassroot. Prehaps too much domination of Khan's have damaged art in Hindi movies.
In the tamil film industry, there are cases with the goree item girls etc as well. I think those are well balanced with a lot of movies which actually are based on real lives of Indians. Virumaandi was actually an excellent movie, although commercialy it was not really a big success owing to the claim ' it was very crude' and yada yada

i dont know abt the crude part, but I hear the violence was excessive. Thats certainly a put off. I really think Kamal should tone down the violence in his movies. Director Cheran has made some very good movies. No gori stuff, just down to earth - dealing with issues in India.

Fineleg, The subject matter of the movie is violence, I didnt see any forced violence in that movie, can you give me some example if you did see the movie?

triam, as i said, i heard abt this one. Did not watch it. I can fully believe Kamal can notch it up when it comes to violence scenes, and hence after i heard abt it, i did not watch the movie. Maybe subject matter is violence - if so, maybe he was right. Just not my cup of tea.

Alright, in a nutshell, the movie is against capital punishment and it chronicles the life of a mass murderer who is in a prison and why he became one.

SRK has tremendous number of fans all over india. kinda sad state of affairs :((

So because you dont like his acting, but he's still a superstar, it's a sad state of affairs? Wah. I was under the impression that the Earth revolved around the sun.

I didn't like Vettaiyadu Vilayadu very much. It was ok I guess for a thriller - lots of unnecessary things in there and shows Indian medicos in poor light.
The gay twist in the end made me cringe. "Neenga rendu perum homosexuals aah?" eeeeek!

LOL, Indians, ALL Indians are generally pretty darn self-loathing inferior biatches. For eg. when I mentioned to some of my dad's colleagues that Jet Airways was the best damn airways as far as my experience and Continental and BA dont quite measure up, they incredulously point out: "But BA and Continental are international :((" :finger: Also, desis are MESMERIZED by "fairness policy". In South Indian movies, at least in Telugu movies, I do not see any Telugu heroines. All imported from up north for a "fairer representation". And do we even need to start about the usual North-South, Aryan-Dravidian racism?

Its because he does not act well - most of the time sappy overacting. Its a sad state of affairs when such a poor actor is the super king khan long live the king! Bah!

And you, the greatest film personality ever, be the judge ? It is all in perspective. Lots of people say actors like Rajesh Khanna, Mithunda, Sanjeev Kapoor, Dharmendra etc etc used to ham a lot. But they were incredibly popular, and no one felt it was sad. You are as qualified as any other film goer to judge his skills, so I don't see why you think you know something the people who are his fans don't know.
