Ok these are from my last month's visit to Sikkim and Darjeeling.. Gangtok, Yumthang. Lachung are pretty places to say the least.... Darjeeling got very commercial and they are ruining the places.. but its still good.. December is probably not the best month to go if you dont like cold weather... its gets really chill... Oct / Nov is better.. Beautiful pictures Veer. Thanks for sharing and I hope you had a fantastic time. The monasteries reminded me of those at Bodh Gaya. Very peaceful and if one, anyone really, sat down on the floor(which is almost always made of marbles or tiles) and looked at the ceiling/motifs he would be mesmerised at the beautiful work, at times taking you to a different world...can really eff up your brain at times. Thanks Veer ji and Sarchy ji for sharing. Sikkim was seamlessly absorbed by India and this still causes great takleef to our Chincommie eastern neighbor.:cantstop:

Fantastic pics veer and sarchasm! Question - How difficult is it to plan a trip to such places? I have always wanted to go to Sikkim, but have been a bit unnerved by the logistics involved. Is a trip to either place doable if and when I come to India (Mumbai/Pune) for a 2 - 3 week vacation? I would love to see such places, but I am afraid the journey will be a bit of a drag/too hectic.

My net has been really slow.. so couldnt post more snaps over the weekend.. hopefully in coming few days.. Maratha pride.. i have some contacts if you need to plan something like this.. i was there for 9 nights.. and it got little bit hactic.. gangtok and darjeeling are the places you can stay for more time like 3 -4 days.. but Lachung, Yumthang is not.. going to one place to another is not fun if you are too soft and dont like bumpy roads.. People of sikkim are very soft-spoken and peace loving.. I am from Mumbai so it was very different for me.. they are very down to earth kinda guys.. you will enjoy it.. you will see the difference when you go to Darjeeling, which is west bengal.. .. If your purpose is to have peaceful time then spare atleast 10 days..but if its just to see places they can arrange 7 day trip.. but it will get hectic.. and these guys will arrange everything for you.. just be ready for little bit of hardship.. meaning prepare to stay in 2 or 3 star hotels (you know NRIs), no fency food, maruti van rides etc.. P.S - i was there for honeymoon hence it was more fun..
