Cochise, Perhaps you are right about your "Theory of Proportionality". But I view is this that: 1. Although India is a Secular Country as a whole, but roots of prejudice are very very deep. 2. In Pakistan Religious Parties get not even 10% Votes, but in India has a big time trouble now. So, why Pakistan has so much problems than India (even if Religious Parties don't get 10% Votes)??? Main difference is not the Proportionality (in my Opinion), but main Difference is this Pakistan has No Control over (1) Weapons ... and that too heavy Weapons. Whole FATA area is full of more than 4-5 Million Kalashnikovs (2) Very very well trained Religious Fanatic Jihadis who could even take US Army or Pak Army any day and defeat them (3) Drugs Money, which is used by Taliban to fund their Jihadies. India is lucky to not to have the above mentioned 3 Things. But I have met the Religious Fanatic Hindus too and I tell you they are equally worse enemies of Humanity as Talibani Mullah. We all should be careful of all these enemies of Humanity.

The Australian umpires Simon Taufel and Steve Davis are angry at the lack of security arrangements that led to them being shot at repeatedly during the terrorist attack in Pakistan. Taufel and Davis were travelling behind the Sri Lanka bus on the way to the ground in Lahore when the firing began, leaving their driver and seven others dead. "I'm angry we were isolated, I'm angry we didn't get the same amount of security the playing staff got, and I'm angry that in our hour of need, we were left on our own,'' Taufel said after landing in Sydney on Thursday. Davis, who was travelling in the same car as the match referee Chris Broad, said in Melbourne he felt "let down" by the officials in Pakistan. "We were certainly left with no security in our van when we were fired upon, security obviously went with the Sri Lankan bus when they managed to get away but we were left there and no one came back for us,'' Davis said. "We were all down on the floor and weren't gonna put our head up for anything. Our bus was just left in the roundabout and despite them getting back to the stadium, no one came back for us." Davis said he was angry because "we had all sorts of assurances and despite all that this was still able to happen". "We were put in a very vulnerable position and felt very helpless,'' he said. Taufel said 25 armed commandos were in the convoy but the umpires were still left on their own. "What I can tell you is we were isolated, left alone and unaccounted for. Looking at that footage, I can't tell you why we're here. I have absolutely no idea. I've seen reports to suggest they haven't caught anyone. I find that amazing. I don't know why." He said they were "caught in a war". "Sometimes if we have a bad day out on the field, and if we don't get everything right, at least we can say nobody has died," he said. "Well. on Tuesday people died, and as I've just expressed to my family, I can't explain why I'm here. There is no reason for us to still be here.'' http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ci/content/current/story/393459.html

Lahore Liberty ambush: Defunct outfit involvement revealed ISLAMABAD: A defunct religious outfit ambushed the Sri Lankan cricket team and the assailants had come from the tribal areas. Sources said that the law enforcing agencies have dug out evidences against the attackers, which revealed that the terrorists having links with Afghanistan give rise to this conclusion that Al Qaeda was also indirectly involved in the Libery tragedy. Sources said that the two vehicles near the Big City Plaza, which were used for Sri lankan team’s ambush had come there early in the morning and no one checked them. Sources said that the terrorists, who has stayed in the Youth Hostel, took part in the action, while the other accomplices had stayed at Kot Lakhpat and Township Area. Secret agencies have found out from the record obtained from cellular phone that the terrorist’ four associates were present around Qaddafi Stadium, who in touch among themselves through mobile phones---one of them stationed near Punjab University new campus, other at Lahore Canal near Qaddafi Stadium, the third one at nearby Boulevard, while the fourth in the Firdaus market area. Sources claimed that the terrorists kept using the station code for Sri Lankan team van and as soon as the van reached Liberty Chowk, the terrorists told each other that the ‘station’ was about to arrive. According to information, among the 14 terrorists a few belonged to Lahore, while others came from the tribal areas armed with explosives RDX highly inflammable. Sources said that a breakthrough has been achieved as plausible evidences have been obtained and some crucial arrests could be made in the next one/two days. h ttp://w ww.geo.tv/3-6-2009/36635.htm Good that Present Pak Gov. showed better approach to the Incident and never pointed out towards India (unlike our Media).

Yaar, You people have to understand there is long time hatred between India and Pakistan. Indian Media too after Gujrat Roits or Train Attacks started pointed out towards Pakistan. This time only one Minister pointed out towards India and you people are also sticking to the negatives only. Why are you not able to see the Positives too that as a whole Government of Pakistan (even if it is corrupt) showed much better behaviour and there were many Ministers and Investigation Officers who right from the beginning denied Indian Involvement. The element of Extremism is every where and they only want to see the Negatives and unable to see the things from upper level of Humanity. Some are calling me even Joker and all other non-sense too. Some denying there is any kind of extremism in India or Indian Culture. Off course I am not going to indulge in useless talks to show the extremism in Indian Soceity (you people are living in India yourself and if you people are still unable to see it then it means not only your your eyes are closed, but your hearts are also blind). So no benefit to indulge in talks. Happy day. Bye.

Its the fact that pakistan instititutions(govts, army, ISI etc) have supported jihadi terrorism against India for decades. They have trained monsters to kill! This by and large has had the support of pak people with this support constantly growing. Do you acknowledge this?

Yaar, when I ever denied it. But I am the one who has been constantly under attack by Pakistani Religious extremists and also some Normal National Pakistani Extremists too who just like some of you find blaming all things upon other side is the biggest service to their country. Unfortunately Pakistan has worst kind of strategic position and in order to repel the Communist Russia all these Jehaadi Organizations were formed by Pakistan and US and Europe (by the way now every one including you people blame Pakistan terrorists only. Why not have courage to blame US the same terrorism things for forming those Jehaadi Organizations?) Again Taliban was formed not only by Pakistan, but by US too (but I don't think you people know the complete history of Taliban and US involvement in this). Making short, if India would have went through same problems as Pakistan at that time, then believe me Indian RAW would have also played that same Devils Role as ISI (among you who think RAW is an ANGEL should pay a visit to a Doctor). RAW is totally involved in same Terrorist activities in Baluchistan and Sindh as Pakistan was in Punjab (using the Local extremists). Any how, I must stop here while I really don't want to indulge in useless talks. Pakistani Extremists are more than enough for me to handle and I don't want to add Indian Extremists too in this List. I just only wish one Day Humanity comes over this problem of extremism of all the sides and that day we will have the peace. Have a nice day Tchüß

What RAW activities. la la land stuff. Any proof? Thought not. Trying to send a non muslim in to pak to use local muslims against other muslims is propestrous and you know it. Logistically impossible. Indian extremists as you label them are not exporting terror to pak. Also no state support for fundies etc. You have and still have a state policy to support/create/use jihadi terrorism. Fortunatley you seem to have a saner voice then many others of your country man. However, you still have the same habit as indicated by your above post of blaming others and pointing fingers at others eg USA, Europe, India and any others you think of. The problem is with pakistan. The fact that saner voices like yourself still will not accept that and still look to blame others is indicative of why you have jihadis roaming everywere and why the problems are getting worse not better. Deal with the problem which is self inflicted. Dont look to blame others for the pain inlicted by your states policies supported by the pakistan masses. The enemy is within not outside.

If paks went to USA and told the gore there to commit terror acts in name of christianity. Would they do it? Hell no they would tell you to bugger off. Some thing in the islamic mindest which makes them indulge so easily in to jihadi action. If the yanks told paks to jump of a cliff in name of islam according to your argument they would all jump of the cliff. You would then blame the yanks!

No one want peace more then indians. Just leave us alone and and dont kill indians. Simple, not a particulary outrageous request is it? Indian extremists?? No one is saying get terrorists to hit pakistan. We are only saying look at your self inflicted terrorism. Stop backing jihadis completley wether they strike aboard or in pak and then pak can progress. Do you support jihadis in kashmir?

Alam, Pakistani schoolbooks have a totally distorted view of history...even Paki intellectuals have admitted that it is basically propaganda to form a mindset of hatred and suspicion to everything Indian. I see that the propaganda is not only restricted to school, but higher levels as well...it permeates through in your equivocation on India-Pak. Why did you not respond to my reply above that itemised your points? You make an asssumption here, that we are not aware of the role of the US. Who says? In the final analysis, if Pakistan wants to prostitute itself as a client state for US foreign interests, whose fault is that? Pakistan??? Maybe? Now you are indulging in hypotheticals:
Making short, if India would have went through same problems as Pakistan at that time, then believe me Indian RAW would have also played that same Devils Role as ISI
This is conjecture. Hypothetically, anything is possible. Personally, I don't have knowledge of RAWS involvement in anything. And any propaganda that comes from a Pakistani is immediately suspect because of the indoctrination of hatred they have towards Indians. Show me objective facts, and I will listen. You may say the same of Indians...except that we are generally taught to bend over backwards to accomodate haughty Pakis and flatter them with equivocation on all issues and do mea culpas so they feel good about themselves....but you may claim that we are the same, subject to propaganda. But the facts do not bear you out. Our schoolbooks are objective...and where not, they are forced to give undue leeway to views that disparage India and Indians as opposed to it. The exact opposite of what Paki education is like...we are taught to doubt our assumed good, not doubt the good of others. Now, Let's take for example, Mumbai. India immediately accused Pakistan...so you can say that Indians are also subject to propaganda. But in the end, it turned out to be true, is it not? It is not that Indians are subject to propaganda...Indians are subject to years of unending foment of trouble by Pakistan in our land...it is the reality that makes us reflexively react that anything untoward is due to Pakistan...becasue 99% of the time, that is EXACTLY the case, by facts and not propaganda. By the way, what do you have to say about the comparative roles of India and West Pakistan in the Bangladesh break up of 1971? What are you taught about it? Are you aware that there was a genocide commited by Tiger and his boys that amount into the millions? Did India occupy East Pakistan after liberating it or did it release it to it's own freedom? Where was RAWS hand in this? This goes to historical record. Now, where is the ISI's hand in the current mutiny in Bangladesh? Do you think they have anything to do with it maybe? Ypou want to examine history dispassionately and objectively, I can take you on a journey from pre-independence through partition to the present that reveals the truth and sets the historical record straight...not propaganda. Let the facts speak for themselves and let's see who comes up right. Pick a relevant topic of your choosing and let's exchange views. I am particularly interested to see what lies in your mind.

:hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: If the yarn about the tribal mobs involvement is true, than it is the most twisted / ironically hilarious thing I have ever read. Anybody seen Hamid's latest show where he supposedly caught the attackers red handed and tries to pin the blame on RAW a good 48 hours after the attack? Why do you need ongoing investigations when you already know who the culprit is? :finger: Seriously, why are people debating the credibility of Pak media? At a time when their news channels where spruiking cooked up stories about their spineless government supposedly killing the Taliban and dismantling jihadi terrorist cells, the rest of the civilized world showed just how far the Taliban infiltrated into every corner of the Pakistani society kthanxbai

One minute it is RAW next minute is GAWwnnn...there is a nursery rhyme in this somewhere:

New Delhi: Pakistan's Interior Ministry chief Rehman Malik on Thursday ruled out India's involvement in attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. Malik said the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers could be the work of al-Qaeda. Interior Ministry sources also said the police have arrested four key suspects in connection with the attack on the Sri Lankan players on Tuesday in Lahore. "The investigation is going. We are at the moment in an unfortunate situation in Punjab province where this incident took place. There have been large-scale rounding up of people and four of those we believe are involved in the attack. So as far as they are concerned we are catching up with them and that is a good sign," said Pakistani Ambassador to United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon. Almost 300 people, including some Afghanis, have also been detained in connection with the attack in which five security personnel and two other people were killed. There are reports that the attackers might have wanted to hijack the Sri Lankan team bus, to demand the release of arrested Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi. Lakhvi has been detained by Pakistani authorities in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks. But police say it is too early to say whether the attackers wanted to hold the team hostage. Initial investigations suggest that they only wanted to attack the team. On Wednesday night Lahore police released sketches of four of the men who attacked the Sri Lankan cricketers. The police are also scanning hospitals in and around Lahore as they believe that one or more of the terrorists were injured during the shootout. CCTV footage available show the gunmen were easily able to carry out the attacks, raising serious questions on security.

"At every junction from the hotel through to where we were attacked and all the way to the ground there were police in light blue uniforms with hand-guns controlling traffic," he said. "How did the terrorists come to the roundabout and how did they start firing and these guys not do anything about it? "There were plenty of police there and yet these terrorists came in, did what they had to do and then went again. It is beyond me."
Interesting questions, are they not?

This must be Indian propaganda...Murali is a RAW agent for sure: http://www.indianexpress.com/news/after-shock-rage-no-security-insider-.../431518/

New Delhi: Careful not to affect ties with Pakistan, Sri Lanka’s Government steered clear of the war of words over security lapses in Lahore which led to the attack on its national Cricket team but the sense of outrage among cricketers and officials spread today with Lankan icon Muttiah Muralitharan and umpire Simon Taufel slamming Pakistani security arrangements. The off-spinner even suggested that the terrorists may have had inside information on their movements. “Somehow, in this incident, there were no police with guns on the bus. If someone was there with a gun we would have had a chance to defend ourselves,” Muralitharan told Adelaide’s Radio 5AA. He said both the Sri Lankan and Pakistani teams and match officials set out together for the Gaddafi stadium on the first two days of the Test match. But on the third morning, Sri Lanka left five minutes before the Pakistani squad. “We left at 8.30. (Pakistan captain) Younis Khan said they were going at 8.35. So there were two escorts — we got one escort, and they had one. Normally when all buses go, about four or five escorts go, so they said divide it into two. May be they (the terrorists) got well-known information... for the right time.” “There were gunshots on and bullets were passing us. I saw (Tharanga) Paranavitana bleeding in the chest. I thought he was gone, actually. Thilan Samaraweera was bleeding, Kumar Sangakkara was bleeding from the shoulder. There was blood everywhere. It was frightening,” Muralitharan said. He later told The Indian Express: “I don’t want to say anything more than what I have already said. There was too much of coincidence in it (the events).” Samaraweera, who received bullet injuries on his thigh, told The Indian Express from a Colombo hospital that he thought he would die. “I’m very happy that my operation was successful and I can play cricket again. When it happened, I thought I would die. I owe my life to the bus driver who got us away to safety.” Team manager and former Test player Brendon Kuruppu said they had approached the authorities for more security due to the political unrest in Lahore, but had been told that the security detail provided was enough. “We’re not experts, so we take what we’re told on face value,” Kuruppu told The Indian Express. Australian umpire Taufel and English match-referee Chris Broad were travelling with other match officials in a van behind the the Sri Lankan bus, and while the team managed to get away from the scene of heavy cross-fire, Broad said they were left behind as “sitting ducks”.
