Mr. Wicket Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Dhondy sums up my thoughts, except far more eloquently than I would have.
Lurker Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I salute the man. It's a resounding slap in the face of padosis who have been making out Muslims in india as reluctant citizens and wannabe Pakistanis. It vindicates the many posts I've made on the neighbouring forum over the years, protesting such generalisations. Isn't it ironic that most padosis swear by Muslim brotherhood (absolutely nothing wrong with the concept itself IMO- each faith to its own), yet view Indian Muslims with a jaundiced eye simply because they were born Indians, and jump on any affirmation of their love for India as a betrayal of Islam? Thank you, sir. Your words were balm to many hearts here. A far more resounding slap in the faces of 'loony' Indians who keep asking - Where are these Muslims - and would spend hours typing on message boards as how Indian Muslims are wannabe Pakistanis who celebrate when India loses etc etc. I would say you realize this very well Dhondy but fail to mention it. To borrow a phrase from your dictionary, you are being Intelactually dishonest here. :winky:
Dhondy Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Don't spoil the thread please, Lurker. Your point may be accuarate, but this is not an appropriate thread to make it on. Start a different one, if you must.

kumble_rocks Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Good man ! I always maintain , Indian Muslims by and large are far more secular than others worldwide. Bollywood is a prime example . Heck , most of the marriages are inter faith with no compulsion to convert.
Rajiv Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 At first I thought the guy is trying to score brownie pts near media but when see it over and over, its pretty genuine
Guest Hiten. Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I am glad this remark came from an Indian muslim because Pakistani's have been going ga-ga about the "atrocities" on their "muslim brothers" for quite a while now. Musharaf has no sense whatsoever because he actually had the audacity to touch this issue in an Indian conference. How dumb!

Start a different one, if you must.[/quote'] Nope. This point needs to be raised right here because it is pertinent. The crux of the matter Madani has raised is simple - Don't alienate Indian Muslims by your stupid comments. The alienation of Indian Muslims is NOT only caused by Pakistanis, they have been driven up the wall by the right wing loonies in India. And I would expect every Secular minded Indian to acknowledge that and support the Madanis of this land or expect more Muthaliks. If you can not do that then yes you are not being honest in your discourse. You obviously have every right to thing otherwise. xx
Rajiv Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Lurks, this is a zipped question: Was right wing always there or it was a creation due to Muslims
Lurker Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 At first I thought the guy is trying to score brownie pts near media but when see it over and over' date=' its pretty genuine[/quote'] It is pretty genuine. His Granddad stood against the division of two nations, and argued how it was wrong even on religious front. His family obviously has chosen to stay behind. Check the interview I have posted in this thread.
Lurker Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Lurks' date=' this is a zipped question: Was right wing always there or it was a creation due to Muslims[/quote'] Wish the answer was as zipped Rajiv. What I can tell you is this right wing growth is witnessed all over the world. United States has gone to the dogs with Conservative Party(Republican) that was heavily influenced by Barry Goldwater and beleived in seperation of State and Church now actually beleives strongly church should influence State. India has witnessed *****es like Muthaliks openly stating in media that he would have killed Gandhi and Nehru. Now can you blame all of this on Muslims?? Would be ridiculous I think. In general right wing has grown thanks mainly because they are loud mouths and often middle of line people are silenced by these bozzos. xxx
