Sachinism
Karachi: Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan's premier batsman and now an Indian Cricket League (ICL) player, has predicted that cricket's love affair with the popular Twenty20 version will soon end. Yousuf said he firmly believes that Twenty20 cricket will fade out as fans and players will both give more importance to one-day internationals a few years from now. "Twenty20 cricket is not here to stay," Yousuf, regarded among the most successful batsmen, told Jang's Midweek Magazine. "There is too much luck involved in it. I believe that with the passage of a few years, people will get bored of it and return to the one-dayers." Twenty20 has become the most popular version of cricket within a few years. Multi-million dollar leagues in India have added to the charm of the shortest version of the international game. The Lahore-born player is currently out of favour with the national cricket top brass because of his association with the ICL. Yousuf, who is keen to return to the national team, said he would want to set up a cricket academy after retiring. "We are going through a lean phase," he said. "We have failed to produce players who could replace the likes of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar and Aamer Sohail." -------- This guy left the national side to play T20 cricket in ICL *scratches head* Link to comment
Rajan
Yusuf considers himself a Cricketing Prophet! his prophecy will never come true. T20 is gaining popularity very fast. he is an hypocrite who ditched his national team to play an unauthorised 20-20 league, later came back to National team ditching ICL, much later tried to hop on to IPL 20-20, later again hung on to ICL 20-20, now announces his latest prophecy! Un parallelled Hypocrite ! Link to comment

Ram
This just shows little he actually understands the sport. Historically, Cricket has always gotten shorter and shorter in duration, starting from the 'Timeless' tests, to 5 days tests to ODIs and now to T20. And T20 will be the only form of the game will be played in another 25-30 years. Link to comment
Pak_Forever
Not too long ago BCCI and Indian squad used to share the same sentiments. Yosuf or whoever says that T20 won't last for long are just living in a dream world. T20 is destined to take over Test and ODIs and will eventually slay them. Link to comment
