putrevus
NZ played showed more guts in both the test matches, in the first match they were 60/6 and wound up with 273, and again in this match they were 23/3 and wound up with 616. Indian teams historically has never shown they can fight out of tough situtations , eden gardens 2001 was the only one instance i can think of where Indian team fought its way out of trouble. Can you imagine indian team scoring either of those scores anywhere from those situtations, they are fine great players but have never shown the grit or fight to over come .They have collapsed too many times as a unit. Pakistan what ever you say about them, they have that fight in them.they fought so many matches when they were almost down and out, remember Moin khan and Saeed Anwar in Eden gradens when they were 26/6 and again Kamran Akmal in Karachi when Irfan pathan took hatrick. Last time when Pakistan toured India Misbah almost playing out of his skin to save his team when facing totals above 600.in 2005 Kamran Akmal and Abul Razaaq saving the match for pakistan in Mohali. One guy who shown in past he can take it to opposition has gone down in both innings this match, the recent surge of team India is due the opening partnerships of Viru and Gambhir, when they fail others have not done so great. Great teams like WI and Australia have fought its way out of trouble becuase they were not dependent one or two batsmen. Sachin has said this is best batting lineup he has ever played with, he did his job great so far on this tour, you cant expect this man to score 100s every time he walks out that is just ridiculous. Time for Gambhir and company to step and show that they have the fight in them. Link to comment
kirtan
Seniors (Dravid, Tendulkar and VVS) did their job, though not best. Its "young" best line up (150 all out team) flopped Link to comment
graphic23
It makes me wonder how much of Indian cricket you've been following for the past decade. Link to comment
punjabi_khota
Wasn't it adversity when Sehwag scored a brilliant 150 to draw the 4th match in Australia last series ? Weren't we down and out when Sehwag,Sachin and UV won us the recent test against Eng ? How about Zaheer and Bhajji's counterattacking innings that saved us the first test match against Australia in the recent series ? Link to comment
