Guest Hiten.
MI middle order is really a worry. It was a great idea to send Bhajji at no3 today. Bhajji has become a decent enough hitter. Sending bhajji in shows that tendulkar/coach does not have enough confidence on middle order. Had it not been bhajji's small burst, MI would have struggled to reach 160 odd :((
ritwik
Indeed, the middle order is the only cause for worry in this otherwise well-oiled Mumbai team. Thankfully they played an extra batsman in Saurabh Tiwary today, and discovered that Abhishek Nayar can be a good enough support seamer. The only way to bolster the middle order might be to play Napier/Mclaren in place of Duminy. Duminy has looked decent so far, but I believe that if Mumbai has another hitter in the middle order then Dhawan and Bravo will be able to bat better with less pressure on them to immediately go for the big shots. It is undoubtedly a dilemma, as dropping Duminy is risky given that he is quite a fine talent, and an electrifying presence in the field. But still, dropping Jayasuriya or Malinga is out of the question and we would lose one of the most innovative LOI bowlers in the world if we drop Bravo. They might have to give Rahane a few chances if Dhawan continues to fail; he has undoubtedly been the biggest disappointment for Mumbai so far. Guest Hiten.
Bump. Quota player Dhawan has to be booted out now. Today was their chance to redeem themselves but they failed miserably apart from Duminy. We won't be going anywhere until out middle order concern is answered. SRT and Jaya won't fire in every game :wall:

ritwik
who are the international and domestic reserves of MI broadly, the following: International: Luke Ronchi Loots Bosman Ashraful Graham Napier Ryan Mclaren Dilhara Fernando Domestic: Rahane Jaydev Shah Rohan Raje Dhawal Kulkarni Takawale Raahil Sheikh the irony is that almost all of our international reserves can hit the ball hard but who do you drop to play any of them? Jayasuriya and Malinga can't be dropped. Duminy played really well today, and Bravo is an excellent bowler even though his batting is full of **** at the moment. Mumbai should drop Dhawan for the next game and play Rahane. Even if he's not "suited" to T20, he can't do worse than Dhawan.
ritwik
I can't believe that Mumbai didn't buy Rohit Sharma during transfer season. Apparently they had made enquiries of Hyderabad who were willing to sell him but the price was "too high". How high could it have been? I doubt if it were higher than Duminy's $950,000. Mumbai seriously lacks in an international quality Indian batsman [apart from Sachin]. Dhawan was expected to fill the breach but he has been shocking so far. Mumbai should have gone for Rohit. He's in a league altogether different from Dhawan, and would've saved a foreign player spot for another all rounder like Napier/Mclaren.
nospam
International: need to play/try Ronchi, instead of Jayasuriya Napier in for Bravo Local: Rahane in for Dhawan
Guest Hiten.
I think bravo needs to be rested in the next game vs KKR. I really want to see how good is Graham Napier. He is being touted as a specialist T20 player who is also a clean hitter of the ball. MI lacks clean hitter of the ball. We need to fill that void. @cowsboy: I won't make fun of BRC, because your team owner himself is taking brc fans for a ride :hysterical:
