King
Top knock that but Jayasuriya was devastating. Terrific opening pair for Twenty20s. On the same note Gilly was absolutely out of the world too so was Hayden and Gibbs. The experienced ones seems to produce blinders in this version of IPL. insane
Sachin is a versatile player that he can take on any version of a cricket game. This is not the first time Tendulkar has flourished in the t20s. If you recall the t20s charity match in England to raise funds for an earthquake/tsunami, Sachin Tendulkar showed what he could do in the t20s. It is basically that he didnt choose to opt for the WC t20. Anyways coming back to this knock today, it was SUPERB. Among all of this, Jaya's knock got overshadowed entirely due to Sachin's reputation. Sachin took the attack to Mendis and hit some lusty blows that went out of the stadium. Then it was it pull shot - something you dont see too often these days , it was a beauty. And then the special shot, looking to paddle sweep, Tendulkar improvised and cut/slashed/guided the ball past the keeper for yet another inventive stroke. While he may be playing for the Zhandu Balm / Bambees , he is a sight to watch.

Whatever Sachin Tendulkar’s reputation and genius Jayasuriya held his own and matched it stroke by stroke. He was extremely devastating and scored at a prodigious speed. Some of the shots he played were mind blowing.

Some of the shots he played were mind blowing. I think you misunderstood. What you are saying about Sanath's inning is what I am saying as well. Sanath was going at a faster striker rate than Tendulkar in the beginning. It was just that Sachin had taken most the strike early on and had gotten more runs at the beginning. And that's how Sachin's innings overshadowed Sanath's. The way Sanath whipped the ball of his pads at lightning speed was just amazing and he has amazing bat speed. What I meant was that people and the commentators simply go gaga over Sachin's shots, etc and that took the attention away from Jayasurya.

One of the best things about Sachin and Jayasuriya is that they have a lot of respect for each other .. in the innings break today, Jayasuriya was praising Sachin and said all the credit of today's innings was to Sachin .. and during the presentation ceremony, Sachin praised Jayasuriya and said all the credits was to Jayasuriya .. and that will is great for the Mumbai Indians team as their best players are complementing each other so well Their friendship reminds me of the Sachin - Lara friendship .. they were and are very good friends even now
