EnterTheVoid Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 If worse comes to worse, reformat your computer Some viruses just don't go away and sometimes the system restore function may not work. I think it's recommended you format XP once every two years There could be a lot of crap lurking in the background, that although may not slow down your computer siginificantly, they play in their role in corrupting important system files Create a backup of everything you need and reformat your computer

Lord Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 may b some spyware..... download SuperAntySpyware OR malwarebytes then do full scan of ur system...... tell me if it detects anything or not...... (btw its just first thought tht thr may b some spyware, there should b some other problem too, but as u said ur AVG AV is not detecting anything, so first lets scan for spyware nd adware then we'll see.....) Lordie - there must be some appam ch***tiya in your PC. :haha: Hold on First download these two : 1. Auto Runs 2. Process explorer OR download full system tools set from Here These tools are good tools to look up boot process etc. Once autoruns is downloaded, unzip the files and run the exe. It will show a list of programs that is supposed to get started whenever PC boots up. Go through that and remove anything that is unnecessary. [uncheck] But please make sure that you know what you are doing or have someway to backup registry so you can do system restore if need be. Process explorer above is a nice tool to replace existing task mgr. It shows the processes and its child processes spawned off etc. Very handy to identify if there are any unwanted processes running. [The unwanted list will come from experience, keep watching from time to time]. HTH. :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up: If worse comes to worse, reformat your computer Some viruses just don't go away and sometimes the system restore function may not work.
