DomainK Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 So is French. What is your point? No, I meant its taught in schools that "Hindi is our national language".
DomainK Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Let us assume that Hindi is the national language. Do you expect everyone to know it? No. Not at all.
graphic23 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 No. Not at all. Alright I know I said Hindi is not the only "official" language of India, but I too was taught in school that Hindi was the national language of India.
flamy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 No. Not at all. Excellent. Now, if only more people understood that.
punjabi_khota Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Let us assume that Hindi is the national language. Do you expect everyone to know it? No. Tandoori Chicken is the state dish of Punjab, and there are people who don't eat it. :omg::omg::omg:
flamy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 No. Tandoori Chicken is the state dish of Punjab' date=' and there are people who don't eat it. :omg::omg::omg:[/quote'] I think they should get 50 lashes :headshake: But, butter chicken is better. Never liked Tandoor. Oil Kebabs are lovely and juicy. :agree:
DomainK Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Excellent. Now' date=' if only more people understood that.[/quote'] Anyone who tells you that as an Indian you must know Hindi is an idiot. Dont listen to idiots.
flamy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Anyone who tells you that as an Indian you must know Hindi is an idiot. Dont listen to idiots. I never do yaar. But, it is sad when some of my brethren feel inferior because of it. I love my multi-dimensional India. I'm working on learning Gujju, Marathi and Bengali.

A Mallu considers himself better than a Bong and a Bong thinks their culture is better than the Mallu's. Just ignore such people.

The Outsider Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Why are South Indians so insecure about the unique status Hindi enjoys in India as one of two official languages with the long term constitutional goal of being the only one.
flamy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Why are South Indians so insecure about the unique status Hindi enjoys in India as one of two official languages with the long term constitutional goal of being the only one. we are like that wonly
ViruRulez Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 even if ur not sure, u say it with full confidence.. i appreciate tht.. but sorry Hindi is not the National Language.. Its one of the official languages... u mite not agree with me.. but thts the fact.... you are right that it is not a national language .. there is no national language mentioned in the constitution of India and hence hindi is not one too but hindi is not only one of the official languages in India but hindi and english are the two official languages in the republic of India... however, every state has also been given right by the constitution to keep its own official language
