Desi Cartman Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Sree , if internet speed is not an issue for you then you can just use google docs. You cant write macros in google's excel but for basic stuff its pretty cool. Even google's powerpoint is not bad.

Used to download a lot of cricket games but has stopped since i never watch them anymore. I dont want to download games because games are not big enough industry to sustain even if there are piracy. I know a couple of studios that went under because of high piracy rates.

EnterTheVoid Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 I download movies as a way of seeing if it is something I want to see in the theater I used to look forward to movies that were hyped endlessly and looked enticing in their marketing campaigns but was left disappointed and short changed when I saw in the theater For instance, I downloaded Slum dog Millionaire via pirate bay just to see what the fuss was about. I liked the movie so much so that I saw the movie in the theater, not once but three times As for songs, I don't want to pay for a CD if it is just a song I want. However, I download the whole CD for good measure :D

Hell, No I think $3 ... I used to rent dvds every couple of week but I hardly used to watch .. so watching online is the best way .. especially for the movies which you arent sure about

What about some authority tracking your real identity via your credit card that was used to buy premium account? My chachu is all nervous now. yes when you buy a premium account your identity will obviously be tracked but it is still safer .. rapidshare are legitamate and trustable guys and you can trust them .. I have spoken to rapidshare and they have quite professional support .. they helped me get back my premium account after it got hacked once ... RS rocks .. but I advise not to use RS or anything else for illegal stuff downloading

Check ther terms of service and you will see copyrighted objects uploading is aganist their terms. So, they wil debate that they are not responsible. 2) Most importantly they are not US company. They are German company and I dont think the piracy laws are as strict in Germany as it is in US or Australia.

The installed version of Microsoft Office is only trial and unless I buy the full version, I wont be able to use Excel, Word etc I thought about downloading the 2007 Microsoft Office from pirate bay, but not so sure now Try downloading and using OpenOffice.org .. it is a free software and has all the functions of Microsoft Office though it might be not as userfriendly .. but if you need it for free without going illegal then I advise you to try it out

I am also against piracy but I also realize that computer literacy and IT success in India has also a lot to do with piracy .. imagine if there would have been no piracy would a normal Indian able to learn Windows or MS Office which costs hundreds of dollars apiece.. leave alone higher softwares even the basic softwares and language are so costly that a normal Indian would not have been able to afford it ... it would have resulted in a lot lesser people being good in computers and IT India and China are two IT powerhouses in the world and coincidentally piracy thrive in both the two countries .. so the fact is that there are both sides of the coin I hate piracy now because I can afford any software however costly it is without much worries or at least I know the free alternatives of those if I dont want to buy them .. but a computer newbie dont have all those ideas .. so what can I say .. it has helped IT education in India and so I wont say it is completely bad but I would surely say that those who can afford it should not go for piracy :hatsoff:
