It's a shame actually that we're even discussing supporting Pakistan especially after last november! did we forget already? Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi? DO you think this kinda thread would have popped up in the padosi forum if 26/11 ever happened in their country and one of us was captured alive and confessed to committing it along with 9 others? you support them, you're a traitor...simple as that doesn't matter who their legends are... one can admire individual player/legend ...but supporting a whole team, especially pakistan is like spitting on the victims and everyone whose lives were taken by the very people that pakistan team represents.
Here's where I disagree: I think of a cricket team as a sports-club, nothing more nothing less. They don't really "represent" a country, and one's patriotism is not defined by the club one chooses to support. It does not matter to me if my friend chooses to support the 11 men in green. I support the 11 men in light-blue. Being non-confrontational, I will not hang out with him when the greens play the blues.

If India as a country feels the need to snap sporting ties with Pakistan then that's a different issue and might get my support depending on the circumstances. But if I am "unpatriotic" because I want Akram and Imran to steam in and roll over Botham and Gooch then that's unadulterated nonsense.

No need to bring war and other political issues into that. I like to see the Pak team getting bashed up in cricket field. However, if someone else wants to support them, no big deal.

^ Why you mixing politics/violence and sport? I also like to watch them lose, but your statement is mixing up and making strong connections needlessly. Well, thats what I think of the above post - that it is mixing issues.

I dont support them cuz I remember how shamelessly they support anti-India activities , how they killed our people in kargil , in Mumbai and everyday they are training Mofos to fight us in our own country. I may not have anything against Gul but I wont support him till he represents a country which trains and sends people to India to kill innocent.

Where's the proof? P.S. I just left Bangalore a few hours before those dhamaakas- I don't take any pleasure in these things be it endangeringmy own life or others. I hoped India would make it to semis as they are a magnificent side to watch most times- just this time the tactics were a bit negative- doesn't stop me from supporting them v evbody but Pak.

Good points, and I wish more Indians and Pakistanis could think like you. Just out of interest what was a Pakistani doing in Bangalore? I thought getting a visa was a nightmare?

Now, we have to convert cricket also to a war.

Now' date=' we have to convert cricket also to a war.[/quote'] are you honestly saying if 9/11 or 26/11 type events happen again in the country....you would still play cricket? and still support pak?? What's wrong with you? I guess you never lost anyone in these tragic events...hence you wouldn't know... it's all fair play till it hits you close to home.

no let's just sit and hold hands and chant peace songs while thousands of our brothers and sisters have died since 2001 in our country for absolutely no reason! or better yet sit behind an anonymous ID and pretend to be an Indian.

Can you list down your achievements to counter terrorism in India besides asking people not to support the Pakistan cricket team with an anonymous ID on a cricket forum.
