I meant when people blog about private stuff and views on non work related stuff. For example if I was blogging about how great Dawkins is and then Gaurav_Indian reads it then basically I will have zero chance of working for his Mughlai kebab shop :--D

Here's a question related to this topic I found on my company intranet; Q: I have a co-worker who maintains a blog in which he talks about news events of the day. Although most of it is pretty tame, he does have some commentary that some people might consider controversial. On the blog, he identifies himself as a XXXXXX employee, although he never really talks about the company. Is he allowed to do this? A: Employees are free to maintain personal Web pages and blogs, but there are steps they must follow to be in compliance with company policy. For example, they must follow the firm's Code of Conduct and all other policies and they must make it clear that they are not speaking on the company's behalf. Also, they must not include any private information about employees or customers and they must not post any photos of — or information about — facilities that could compromise security.

You mean he should have a disclaimer: the views expressed here are my own and in no way represent the views or policies of my company. :P

That could be positive I think if a future employer searches your name online. Well, its always good to be able to showcase your knowledge and if a blog helps you doing that, great. But I was referring to specific company/job related information that one might accidentally spill into a blog, which could have serious repercussions.
