What I don't understand is why/how people invest enough emotion in a stranger to put their own lives on hold to participate in extended mourning. Not saying it is wrong; I just don't get it. But that's not vicarious, you see. You have to be seen to mourn, or to rejoice, or to be hugely affected by whatever vicissitude happens to be in fashion. That's why people stand with a full bladder at Glastonbury for hours, join mourners queues, turn out at Ashes winning parades. No fun in doing it in solitude, for a few minutes, unheralded and unnoticed. You have to make a statement.

I was a grad student at the time and had entered my office when my office mate informed me that a plane had crashed in one of the WTC towers. Why would you let a man who just raped your own child be let free in the streets like that? Pretty sure the family was just after some money. They conned him. 2nd time - He was proven not guilty - Yet another family trying to pull the same con for money? Yup.

It has emerged Jackson was given a powerful, surgical anaesthetic called properol through a drip-feed to help him sleep. Authorities believe this was the ultimate cause of the singer’s death on June 25 even though his body contained a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs, including OxyContin and Demerol. A senior police officer who went into Jackson’s rented house in Beverly Hills said clothes and other items were strewn about the singer’s bedroom, according to the Daily Star, and that handwritten notes found on the walls pointed to his troubled mental state as he prepared for 50 concerts at London’s O2 Arena. One read: “Children are sweet,” while another said: “Children are innocent.” The officer also claimed the singer’s staff had not been allowed upstairs to clean up his mess. The policeman told the newspaper: “The temperature upstairs was stiflingly hot, with gas fireplaces and the heating system on high because Jackson always complained of feeling cold. “The singer’s bedroom was a mess, with items seemingly thrown about and some 20 handwritten notes stuck on the walls. A porcelain girl doll wearing a dress was found on top of the covers of the bed where he slept.” Dr Murray, 56, a cardiologist with practices in Las Vegas and Houston, had his Texas office and a storage unit searched last week by Drug Enforcement Agency agents. Officers in Las Vegas carried out a similar search at his home and office there on Tuesday. Court records show the agents were investigating a possible case of manslaughter. Police say Dr Murray is cooperating and have not labelled him a suspect. Many of those same adoring fans of MJ who did not once criticise his pervesions here and taking me to task for daring to suggest this man was sicko, are now wading in to slam sai baba and hammer him. The hypocricy is startling. Looks like many worshipped Sicko Jacko and were willing to dismiss his crimes against children. Looks like every one has there different people who they worship and will defend all their sicko behaviour. I smell lots of Hypocricy p.s I worship tendulkar and his conduct is untouchable:--D
