Is he really serious, or even, are you about him playing cricket professionally? How has he been doing so far? Does he play cricket and get training all year round?

Does he play cricket and get training all year round? yes he's very serious he has it all sussed bowling style, where he wants to be, the lot! last yr he played two matches as a trial next season he is in the under 9's team, his season ended a few weeks ago, winter nets start in Jan then after easter he's playing in all the under 9's the coaching support he gets is fantastic and they're organising to take the team abroad to play as well

There are tournaments run in the winter, where the matches played indoors. It'll keep him focused on cricket through out the year and you learn different things. Indoor cricket teaches you to place the ball, because runs are easily accumulated if you just find the gaps and hit the balls, which aren't far out. I believe you said he was 8 before, you need to get playing some matches. Match practice is extremely important.
