Sachin is no longer a threat: Afridi From a compulsive shot-maker to a supremely confident captain ahead of the crucial tie against India, life has come to a full circle for Shahid Afridi. Pakistan will take on India in a group B clash at Centurion on Saturday. Looking back at the 2003 World Cup match between the two sides, which Pakistan lost, Afridi said a lot has changed and his team is a lot better than what it was at that time. "That was 2003. This is 2009. It's been six years. We are a very good one-day side now. We not only have good batting but our bowling is also exceptional," said Afridi. Indians, along with hosts South Africa, are claimants to the world's best one-day batting side tag but Afridi said Pakistan are no less. "If they claim themselves to be the best, I would say we are also best. Every team knows its strength. We have a very balanced side. Still, I don't take any side lightly", he said. "In one-day cricket, we should not think that we can win easily against any team. There have been examples when big teams have lost to small sides. However, bowling, as I said, has been our chief weapon which has helped us win," Afridi said. Pakistan's bowling, led by Mohammad Aamer and Umar Gul, backed by spinner Saeed Ajmal and Afridi himself, looks strong and it would only get stronger with the return of Mohammad Asif, who completed his dope ban today. Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said Asif's return is good news for Pakistan cricket. "He is a match-winner. Today he completes his ban and he then becomes available. It's good for Pakistan that he has made a comeback. The type of bowler that he is, the team is looking forward to have him back," Alam said. Afridi has established himself as one of the biggest hitters of the game and similar is the reputation that Yuvraj Singh enjoys in the Indian line-up. The Pakistani all-rounder had little hesitation in declaring the Indian left-hander as a better batsman than him. He did not say directly that sachin is a threat but implied it. He implied "Sachin is not a threat in 2009" Sachins in 2009, 5 6 7 20 61 163* 46 27 138 Yo retard. Take a look at those stats. That 163 was in NZ. That last 2 innings in SL is more than how muchyou got in SL in the 14 innings you have played there. Here do this math - Sachin - 2 innings in 2009 against SL in SL - 165 @ 82.5 avg You mr.retard - 14 innings career in SL - 162 @ 16.2 avg

TBH he didnt say that "he is no longer a threat" .. all he said was that Sachin was in great form back then ...
another case of title nowhere close to content, he also said yuvraj is better batsman than he is but that noone will bother reading, ppl will try every thing possible comeout with stat books to prove Sachin is in great form.

Well he is referring to the fact that sachin has evolved as a batsman from 2003 to date and that he has remained a retard with minor changes to the way he gets out...

Just shows that these pakistani players have already given up. They know their fate against India is sealed even before a ball has been bowled. They are trying to hype it up hoping to see some reactions from team india so that Indian players cud also feel tht added pressure. Thats the basic difference between a team which is ICC no 1 right now and a team which at best can claim to be a middle rung ODI team, just about average. Let the hopeless fellows keep barking and gloating over their 'T20 World Cup' win. We are a better team than them and dont need to shout about that in the media.

Team India will do what it must. 1999 WC was during Kargil , 2003 WC was first match after the parliament attack - We kicked their sorry @$$es both the times. 2009 CT is after the 26/11 attacks of last year.

Are we self proclaimed No1 side or by virtue of good performance for a long period of time we are in Top 2 .. saala they beated Zim.bangla... and claim to be better than us...
